Login error when switched to another profile
Affected version is 1.0.2.
When I switch to another account (both from non-premium to premium, and from premium to non-premium),
I cannot login to switched account so I forced play in offline mode
even if I have internet connection.
Switching back to original account, I log in successfully.

Actually, this is a duplicate of MCL-602, and although it is better than in 1.0.4, it apparently still exists.

@ Mods:
Maybe Duplicate of MCL-602 ?
Mister Adams is already assigned to that.

This is a duplicate of MCL-602.
Pressing "Log Out" and then "Play" worked for me.

Switch profile, press 'LogOut' and then re-enter password, I can login successfully.
I tested in new environment (delete launcher_profiles.json and create new),
login error is occurred to another profile with same account.
In launcher_profiles.json, 'username' and 'uuid' are same values respectively, but both 'accessToken's are different.
Confirmed.
Also confirmed that logging out and logging in again fixes this issue.
ya. even i know how to fix it. i still get this problem as well in 1.0.4
The description reads: "Launcher says 'play offline', but I can play minecraft in online mode (skin applied)."
But it's not online regardless of the skin. When I try to login to a server I get "Failed to login: Bad login". Also in the console it reads: "Couldn't go online ... Going to play offline as 'S_____'..."
Another note related to this bug: The UI is confusing/misleading. "Log out" button after "Welcome, Username" while in fact you are not successfully logged in, doesn't make any sense. Instead there should be the login form a "Login" button and if there's been at least one successful login, a "Play offline" button should also appear when login fails.
I modified 'accessToken' field of the current profile in the launcher_profile.json file,
and when I run the launcher, 'Play Offline' button is shown.
Instead of this, login form should be there.
Offtopic: laucher_profile.json uses system default character encoding.
For good internationalization, IMHO UTF-8 is better.

Launcher updated to 1.0.1
***Enabled Yggdrasil, The new auth system <--my guest is when they add this to launcher. that when system broke. i say before and i say it again. if the system like 1.0.0 is working, don't fix it! now i want to know what is "Yggdrasil"? when i google it. i got photo of oversize tree. but i don't think this program is a tree. it is some auth system. other word it do with login and protect.
Same error in 1.0.5.
I'm still having this problem as well. Clicking the Play Offline button allows me to see my servers but I get the "bad login" error message when I try connecting to one.
Created a profile for 1.5, since most servers haven't switched yet, only option for the default profile is now play offline. No way to play online, no option to delete the new profile, nothing.
Edit:
Found how to delete the alternate profile, default profile remains broken.
Edit 2:
Found a workaround by creating a new profile with the same settings as default and using that. Unfortunately it seems that you can only create one active profile at a time, as logging into another profile with the same account causes the previous profiles to become offline only upon restarting the launcher.
try login out and login back in on one you pick. i hope this get fix soon
Oh wow, didn't even think of that. Robin's workaround is way better. It's almost a non-issue now. Switch, logout, play.
i cant log in with new launcher please help show me what to do and send links please
It also happens on the version 1.0.7 of the launcher, evidence:
http://imgur.com/a4Mk9vC
it is still broken in 1.0.7 (o.O) i start think you can not fix it. LOL! well, i gust there worse thing that can happen
Also affects version 1.0.8
This has been an issue since the new launcher launched! I've never been able to switch accounts without having to log into them again.
Confirm in 1.0.8
Maybe it's the same thing... but I get this error with the same account just by switching between 2 profiles. When I logout and login, it works fine for both profiles, but when I restart the launcher, the first one only works and the second one gets the same error...
I have the same issue as Toni.
Please also read
MCL-986- I suppose that's a Dupiicate then of this here.I'll attach my 2 Development Console Files also here, and a shortened text:
Confirmed, I have the same problem, 2 accounts, Meridiana and LapisDemon, both are successfully logged inside the Mojang/Minecraft authentication server, but when I try to play on a SMP server, it gives me a "Bad Login".
Development Console (attached) says:
"*Trying to log in...
Logging in with access token
Couldn't go online*"
I can fix it by LOGGING OUT of my both accounts.
I noticed one thing:
The Password of LapisDemon account has currently 8 digits, my Meridiana account has 12 digits.
When I logged out of the LapisDemon account, I could see 12 digits in the Password field, not 8! When I tried to log back in, of course it gave me a "Wrong Password" notice this time.
After I entered the correct 8-digits-password, I could log into the SMP server.
Very strange though: In order to fix Meridiana for the SMP Login, I also had to logout from my pre-made account first.
The strange thing about it is that it had the correct 12 digits, but it still gave me a "Bad Login"!
Regards,
Meri
I think the report https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MCL-852 is also a duplicate of this one.
Indeed this does occasionally happen
For me this happens every time I try to change the profile. Only the one which is active when I start the launcher works. Not sure if this has anything to do to the fact that I changed my password recently (of course didn't remember what was stored in the previous launcher)...
@Toni: Cannot be the change of your password, I deleted my whole MC folder for demonstration purposes (Tutorial), there was nothing that could have been stored there for me.
@Mister Adams/Dinnerbone: I don't know if it's related, but
MCL-945("Copying profile of Account 1 will overwrite Account 1's name to Account's 2 name after logging in with Account 2 (Donor Account gets changed to Recipient Account)") :When I make a copy of an existing Profile of another account, said copied account gets overwritten by the 2nd account's name/info.
As I'm not a coder, I don't know if it can be related at all, but I wanted to add this here, in case there is some sort of relation.
I also made a Video where you can see that happening (it's linked in
MCL-945)Regards,
Meri
This bug/issue still affects the new launcher, 1.0.9. Just to let you guys know.
Not fixed in 1.0.10.
Is this the bug where it says only Play Offline until you log out and then back in? The aforementioned bug was marked as a dupe of this, but this seems to be broader.
Confirmed fixed.
