The enchantment glint on armour shows as a block of whatever material it's made of.
For example, netherite shows as a grey block.
To reproduce this issue, simply enchant some armour, to get the results I did, I used netherite. Then you'll want to wear that armour, and you'll see it isn't rendering properly.

After the last update 1.20.50.22, armor that is customized with some ore became completely broken and without texture, as you can see in the display.
The steps to make the bug are in the attached video and also described above.
And only with armor carved with some ore.
Enchanted armor is NORMAL, not related in any way to MCPE-174535 which reported that enchanting armor caused a similar error.
This is not the same bug reported in MCPE-174535.
I'm not using any textures or modifications in my game.

Reading through previous reports of this bug. Including MCPE-174535 . It was states that this bug was resolved, but on the latest patch. Any armour that has an enchantment on it gets the texture ruined and all you get is a solid colour texture on your character. The helmet also seems to spin around the head following the glint I'm guessing. My friend who is using IOS is not having this bug but me who uses an android and many more people from reddit and here have stated that the bug is not fixed on android. This is on vanilla and downloading texture packs does not fix the issue either.

I have the same problem. All enchanted armor is not rendering correctly. I tried changing the skin and setting combinations, and resetting it, but nothing changed. Resource packs and behavior packs are not used. This issue did not occur on Windows.
I was enjoying playing severs until I came across this bug and I uninstaller and reinstalled the game and it still happened can this be fixed please

I have this problem as well, it started with 1.20.30. Not happening with servermates playing on non-Android devices. Happens on server based worlds as well as single-player worlds on my local device. I'm seeing this happen with:

yes, the same thing happens to me, I've been waiting for a resolution for days and so far nothing... so I came here to try to report it
not only the armor with visual errors but also enchanted tools, some objects do not appear in the character's hand, others even appear but with a different texture or with strange positions (for example it is inverted), tools such as elytra and shield when enchanted also appear with errors , playable potions also present problems when thrown, since the potion projectile at the time of the throw is invisible.
Same thing for me as well.
It also does it with mob heads, on you and the item. this also happens with other 3d items like tridents.
Heads up for any moderators, this behaviour is not reproduced in emulators. Using the Minecraft Linux Launcher on my machine and Bluestacks, or any other emulator will not yield any results. It seems to be an Android related issue.
Also affects versions 1.20.40.20 preview and 1.20.50.20 preview.

I also have this problem, it started in 1.21.30 ("stable" version), I've already tried textures, removed the enchantment sparkles, deleted them and downloaded them again but even with all this it still doesn't solve it. It didn't happen to my friends and they all use Android phones

I'm playing on the Chromebook edition and still happens on 1.20.40 it's horrible and sad that I can't use any enchanted gear bc its being render bad. Bow and crossbow doesn't even render, those are invisible if they are enchanted.
Also affects Chromebook users. It seems to also only affect Android users using Android 13 or newer.
Please fix, I want to see my enchanted crossbow!

I assume they wait for a certain number of bug fixes to be ready to deploy so they're not pushing out updates daily
I am having this problem too. I was guided to this forum by Mojang Support. It is sad this bug has gone on this long without a fix.
Edit: I joined the beta program via the Google Play Store. I was then able to download the beta version of 1.20.60.20. Unfortunately, for me the new beta version does not fix the problem. Armor is still a colored block and projectile weapons are still invisible.
Just adding that this also breaks the texture on Enchanted Shields. Shields turn completely white. Good times.

Based on comments, I noticed that this symptom is only seen in smartphones that use ARM GPUs.

1.20.50 still have the same glitch, enchanted items render as a solid color block and projectile weapons are invisible. this breaks all the fun because is insanely distractive and unusable to use a weapon you cant see. this still happening on the Android version and also on the chromebook edition. its amazing how a bug like this that has been already found and pointed what part of the code its broken and still no resent update have taken care of it its just embarasing.

1.20.51 hotfix. Still unresolved. Friend on IOS doesn't see this bug. Android on the other hand still has this visual bug. Texture packs do not fix the bug either.
I may have found a solution to this issue.
The new 1.20.50 update had fixed a similar bug, where armor trims would result in the same blocky mess as this. That bug was fixed, as it was found to be a result of the trims folder becoming missing. So, while searching around in the default resource pack, I found that in entity.materials in the materials folder, it referenced this:
"armor_enchanted:entity_alphatest_glint": {}
Any object that used 'armor_enchanted' in its json file ended up being corrupted. This only happens on genuine mobile devices and on ARM GPUs, so this could possibly be a shader error. I found a workaround for this bug as a result:

I can confirm that cheeseballs6006's fix worked as advertised: Enchanted items no longer look enchanted, but instead they look like their unenchanted versions.
Also confirming that cheeseballs6006 BANDAID works. I want to make it clear - looking at you devs - that this is a bandaid and not a fix.

Still here on 1.20.71 This is an unplayable bug and needs to be fixed fast. I am on a pixel 7 and still have it, not to mention that lots of people use android devices. It also ruins armor trims and their effect as everyone uses enchants it can be commonly seen. Just enchant most items. Not just armor but tools too. Tridents are a solid color, bows are almost invisible, crossbows as well, shields are just white, though haven't tested fishing rods. Tools like swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, and also enchanted books are unaffected.

Definitely has to do with the type of device since I tried with a Redmi Note 10 Pro and this doesn't happen at all. This also happens on Realms, so the issue is not a specific world.
Edit: I've noticed something, these issues persist when using imported skins to the game. When using a skin from the Marketplace or any you own in-game, the textures seem to "fix" themselves, although turning back glitched if you change it back to an imported skin I believe.
Tested and confirmed behaviour on a Note20 running 1.20.72, both in single player creative world and a BDS survival world. I also tested the workaround and it works.
The enchanted trident and bow also effect by this bug. Device : Realme 11x.

The same for enchanted armor, they are bugged, they look disjointed. Samsung A13, Android 14 devices.
If a Minecraft Dev is reading this: This bug affects all chipsets, except for Snapdragon ones. If a device is using an Adreno GPU, it will likely not be affected, as to why phones like the Redmi Note 10 Pro are unaffected.
(This was all done on a Samsung S21) Downloading cheeseballs6006 fix: https://app.mediafire.com/t0v1kcn8ryvky will give you a zip file. proceed to change the zip file into a mcpack by renaming the pack (replace .zip with .mcpack) . Then you will need to download an app (iZip was the app I used) in playstore, to be able to import the file into minecraft (this is all in videos in youtube if you need a more easier explanation/example) . Once you are in minecraft it will say it has imported the file at the top of your screen. Then proceed to go into settings. After that go into resource packs and click activate on cheeseballs6006 resource pack. Your armour will then no longer have the issue and all will be fixed.
(However doing this will also remove all the enchantment glint on the armour and the armour will look unenchanted)

Okay here's everything I know on how to replicate this issue. So first of all the issue is the textures for enchanted helmets, chest plates, leggings, boots, bows, crossbows, tridents, shields, and elytra are bugged. So how I have this issue in on my specific device the Google Pixel 7a and it is updated to Android 14. I obtained Minecraft through the Google Play store (this could be the cause but idk) and updated to the latest version 1.20.81 I don't know about the beta but I assume it's there. Now I open Minecraft after installing and before logging into the Minecraft account (in case that's the cause too but I can't confirm) create a creative new world, basic settings and enchant any of the items above. If done correctly, at least one of these should be bugged. What they look like when bugged is the helmet looks like a solid hood sometimes revealing the head, the chest plate is just solid, the leggings are almost invisible, the boots are solid but also looks like leggings too, the bow is also invisible, the crossbow should be almost invisible sparing a few lines, the trident has the same shape just a solid color under the glint, the elytra is a strange gradient color and finally the shield is a white square that if you look close enough you can actually see the proper texture and also the missing texture colors (the purple and black tiles). I believe it is something in the base texture files in Minecraft but I don't understand coding. Pls fix mod.
Recently got a Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro and after downloading Minecraft and playing, enchanted Armor, shield and elytra all appear to be bugged in the way some people have been reporting. Though for me, Armor trims do not seem to be the issue as I have tested it in creative as well without a trim.
Haven't seen this bug until now.

This display problem also affects my S21 FE and maybe other S21 FE users also feel it. Every time I use a crossbow that has been given an Enchanted Book like Quickcharge 1, the crossbow disappears and there is no reloading animation, in my player's right hand there is only a flashing line. I was surprised that this problem has been around since 2023 and many users have experienced the same thing, but there has been no fix until now...
It seems like this issue got fixed in the latest beta (1.21.30.21), as i can no longer reproduce the issue.
Kelianor is correct newest beta fixed the glint bug, meaning most likely when 1.21.30 release get out we will be able to play normally without this bug!
Can confirm the last two comments, my fix is no longer needed for preview version 1.20.30.24 either, so the fix will be public in release 1.20.30
