Place a magma block 3 blocks in front of the player and 4 more blocks (2 extending left and right each), then lure a villager with food.
Observed result: The villager takes damage from the magma block.
Expected results: The villager can path find around the magma blocks to go towards the player.
Also speaking about villagers, I want to highlight a few other serious bugs:
*Particularly important
Was it on peaceful mode? Also the walking animation bug is being tracked in a different ticket.
No, it was on hard difficulty
Was this iron golem spawned by the village, or did you create it?
Spawned in the village
it’s partially fixed though

I am having the same issue. My world was created in 1.20.71 and the only non-default vanilla thing I have on the world is the gravestone addon from the marketplace. And this has been happening for vanilla worlds too. It's been a thing that I've noticed for a long time, I never knew I could even say anything about it until recently.
Confirmed in 1.21.44
Is this really a bug? Iron golem attacks player when the value of popularity is below -15. One hit makes it -1.
