All accounts belonging to Mojang employees, and employees who are part of the quality assurance team (MCQA) don't have consistent name colors. Mojang accounts most often have red names and MCQA accounts most often have yellow names, but this does not apply to all of them.
Expected result:
All Mojang accounts would have a red name and all MCQA accounts would have a yellow name.
Observed result:
These Mojang accounts have a yellow name (as opposed to red, but writing all of the red ones here would take forever):

1. Go to www.minecraft.net.
2. Sign-in with your Microsoft Account with GamePass.
3. Go to profile and look for 'Change' button next to 'Profile Name'.
4. Type-in your new profile name.
5. Click on 'Change Profile name'.
Can you change your GamerTag with those steps?
1. Go to www.Xbox.com.
2. Sign-in with your Microsoft Account with GamePass.
3. Go to 'Xbox Profile' and then 'Customize'.
4. Click on 'Pen' icon next to your GamerTag.
5. Type-in your new GamerTag and save it.

I have to ask you to check again if you're 100% sure you're logged into the same account in Launcher and on minecraft.net website. We've tried to reproduce this several times on our side and every account that owns GamePass should be able to change their Minecraft Java Profile Name on minecraft.net.
Make sure you're logged with the same account with GamePass to MS Store and XboxApp.
From what you've send, account you are logged in on website does not have Minecraft Java entitlements.
You could also try downloading different Launcher (by using option download for Win7/8) from here [Download Minecraft | Minecraft.|https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download]

Can someone confirm that this issue is still occurring?
If so please respond in comment section to further investigate this issue.
Issue also occurs on Release 1.20.4 with two new cases not mentioned in bug description:
1. When the Player creates a new Realm 'Create the realm...' - Please, notice that the issue does not occur when the Player creates a new Snapshot Realm.
