The bug
If a player has an arrow stuck in them and switches to third person mode, the lighting of entities have a dark tone to them. In multiplayer, if any player has an arrow stuck in them, all players will see the lighting bug even if they are not in third person mode.
How to reproduce
- Make a new creative world
- Equip yourself with diamond armor
- Spawn a skeleton (make sure it's night) and spawn a pig to compare the lighting
- Switch your gamemode to survival and switch your view to third person using F5
- Once a arrow is attached to you, you will see a lighting bug on the pig, and to a lesser extent, the skeleton.

Hard to tell. Try it in the day with a roof over the skeleton, unless this bug only works at night.

Also block drops.
It seems this bug also occurs in the vicinity of ender crystals.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Can no longer reproduce the issue in 19w39a. Can anyone else confirm this is fixed?
