Lava texture animation moves too fast / Animated textures ignoring text files
WE KNOW THIS IS NOT FIXED IN 13w21b/13w22a/13w23a. PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ABOUT HOW THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE.
I launched Minecraft Snapshot 13w21a and I jumped into my 1.6 test world. I have flowing lava, flowing water, and an active nether portal all within a few blocks of each other. The flowing water is animated at what I would call the corrected speed, that being the speed that it is animated at in previous Minecraft versions. The nether portal is also animated at the correct speed. But flowing lava is not. Flowing lava's animation makes it look like it is flowing 2x faster than water flowing animation. Also, lava source block animation when it is not flowing is also animating too fast.

@Tails:
Mind to update the title/description of MC-16149 because it does NOT only affect lava animations.
The game doesn't recognize the properties files of animations in general. Happens with texturepacks too.

This can be marked as "fixed" too (see MC-16149, comments ...)

Because it is a hassle to make all the issues marked as a duplicate of MC-16149 a duplicate of this ticket.

Confirmed.
All the textures animations are too fast, in texturepacks too
Confirmed!
animations and all texturepacks.
The game doesn't recognize the text files of animations in general (better update the description so it's easier to reproduce). Happens with ALL
Indeed, this is because the halfway point of implementing ResourcePacks !
We'll fix this for the next version (i'll mark it as fixed meanwhile ;D)
Ok, good to know. So Resource Packs are the new future of Texturepacks? Sounds interesting ... looking forward to it
oh I see.
Not solved: using Snapshot 13w21b, Lava texture is still way faster compared to 1.5.2 or older versions
Confirmed. Uploaded a video.
It says "Fix Version/s: Snapshot 13w21b", but it's still not fixed. Something's wrong here ...
Reopened.
this is with all files
this is because of
MC-16142since it is marked fixed does that mean it is fixed for the next snapshot? cause in 13w21b it is still bugged
The lava and water animation are to quick in 13w21b. Please reopen.
Please note the fix versions.
@Tails: Please read my comment. It is in 13w21b. I read bug fix list, but it isn't fixed. Test it by yourself.
Affects Version/s: Snapshot 13w21a, Snapshot 13w21b
Fix Version/s: Future Version - 1.6
Please read the header of this ticket.
How can you call it fixed in the future?
We are in close contact with the developers which stated to fix it for the next release.
tl;dr?
I still find disturbing that it's considered "fixed".
Nearly every bug will eventually be fixed in a future version, though you don't mark them all as fixed, do you ?
@Nicholas Saulo: Please stop commenting. I am sorry you don't understand what we are trying to say.
Let me put it this way, read it slow and re read it if you have to.
GRUM fixed it and said it will be in the next update, snapshot, pre release, or whatever
So they mark it as fixed, they do this all the time, if they know it has been fixed by the staff, they mark it as fixed, if they don't, it stays open until they say it is fixed or until it appears in a change log.
IF in the next update or snapshot it isn't fixed, THEN they will reopen it and tell grum that it still is broken.
i hope the animation stays this way in the nether because lave is like water there
it flows really fast so the animation should be fast
@Not Telling Yuwe:
It's a bug of the whole animation system, so they need to fix it.
If the lava animation speed in the nether bothers you in any way, just make a texturepack which fits your needs. You can create different lava animations for the nether and overworld by combining CTM method=fixed with biome specific CTM and by adding two different animation text files to define the animation speeds. Sounds complicated, but it's actually done in 5 minutes :-p
^ the lava speed in the nether is actually a bug too
The fix didn't make it in 13w22a yet
Eww, come one fix this please!
