The bug
Some debug commands work inconsistently for certain keyboard layouts. For example, Fn + F3 + G toggles the chunk border debug overlay, but Fn + F3 + B does not display entity hitboxes as it should.

F3 + I - copies server-side entity data to clipboard
F3 + T - reloads resource packs
F3 + P - pauses on lost focus

whenever i press f3 + b it just sneaks for a second and nothing else happens, but every other f3 function works perfectly.

Not exactly sure what the cause is, are you using any non-standard keyboard layout, are you on a laptop, or similar?

You can't press them at the same time. Press and release the Fn key, then quickly hold the F3 key and only then press the B key.

In that case, this does in fact duplicate MC-164531. In that report, it is stated that some commands (Fn + F3 + G) work, yet some do not (Fn + F3 +B}}).
What's your keyboard layout? Also, have you changed any of the control settings?
i play on a laptop, so i have to press fn to use any of the f3 functions, but everything else works normally, and i have disabled auto jump and switched run to shift and sneak to control, thats all.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report (minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt) here.

I am unable to reproduce this issue in 1.17 Pre-release 4.
Is this still an issue in the latest version?
Can confirm this is an issue in 1.17.1 Release Candidate 1. However, it is dependent on the keyboard layout as violine1101 said. For the hitboxes to show up, I have to do a very specific sequence of key presses that I don't need to with any other F3 function.
Can confirm in 21w43a. May I request ownership of this ticket as the reporter is inactive?
Thanks. This happens with other key combinations as well in my keyboard, so I will try add as much information as possible.
Seems really similar to
MC-54194, except that it only affects certain key combinations.
