The Bug
Hanging roots hitbox are detach the center.
Steps to Reproduce
- Place down several hanging roots.
- Look at their hitboxes.
→ Notice how the hitboxes of hanging roots are not adjusted to the center of their model.
Expected Behavior:
The expected behavior would be that the hitboxes of hanging roots are adjusted to the center of their model.

I think rotation of the hitbox is intentional per MC-220664
This is intentional to make it less uniform.
