No loading progress bar whenever we create a new world or when the game is loading something
What's the problem: I don't see the green loading progress bar, the one you normally see when updating Minecraft, when creating a world, regardless of game modes.
What I expected: I expect myself to see a loading progress bar whenever I create a new world, and it should appear when it's building terrain and converting worlds.
How to reproduce:
- You play Single Player.
- Create a new World
- (Optional) Set whatever world options you like.
- Create.

Probably for the same reason the loading bar is gone (MC-2681).
So if this is about the autosave message then I guess this might be a valid bug report.

Maybe related to MC-2681.

Looks a lot nicer now, especially when generating a new world!
Though let's have a moment of silence for MC-2681...

Yeah, I don't know what's up with this. :/
Gone in 1.4.5 too.
oops just separately reported this

But yeah it still displays percentage in the command line.

@Wyatt Ward:
This bug is related to single player mode. The percentages shown in your image works as intended from the server console, which is unrelated to this issue.
This for whatever reason was one of the coolest things about the game that broke. I hope mojang fixes this!
wasn't this removed in 1.3?
that doesn't mean I wouldn't want it back!
Please vote then.
I do think that the intended feature was to include the loading bar, to avoid confusion.
I've had some worlds that just will not either convert or build, and I used to figure this out by watching the bar and waiting for it to get stuck.
What causes the bar to not show, I have not figured out yet, but this is certainly a confusing issue.
This has not been fixed, as of Minecraft 1.5.
They should also add the green bar when you join a server!
To Aidan Scotland:
That would be a feature request. It has nothing to do with this issue, which was that the loading bar once had been working before.
I know, it still would be cool
@Tom Lee
Yes this is a server-sided issue. But my point is the minecraft client could read this from the server.
@Wyatt Ward
It could. But it didn't do that back in the 1.3 days.
I can't tell if this issue should be marked with "Future release - 1.5.1" for the pre-release 1.5.1, or not. As far as I know, I'm going to keep following the snapshot updates and prereleases until this issue is fixed. According to this link here, this issue is still not resolved.
Also it would be a good idea to update the title, because this happens whenever there should be a loading bar, not just when creating a world
@FireHunterX
Updated the title just for you. Although, I'm not sure how I should rephrase my title for that. Would you like to suggest a title for me?
this was like that since 1.3.1
Tom Lee, it's been a while but this is not the server that I'm using. I ran the launcher in a command prompt with 'java -Xmx800M -jar minecraft.jar' and the console window displayed debug info from the game. i made a singleplayer world and it said this. Since singleplayer is now a local server combined with a client, this works for singleplayer mode.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Yes, it's still a concern.
I just don't have free time for now. I'm still monitoring this issue.
To the mods:
Can anyone help monitoring this issue? I'm going to start my conscription service soon, and I won't be available to continue tracking this issue. As of now, this issue is still valid.
Is it also possible to transfer ownership to another person? Thanks in advance.
Perhaps someone could just report it again and close this one?
I can move this to myself.
Confirmed for 1.7.5, 14w08a and 14w10c
Confirmed for 14w11b
Confirmed for 1.8-pre3.
Confirmed for 1.8.
Working as intended
@J. P. - Source?
Why is this intended?
Roadsguy, its because Mojang (Searge in this case) said so. Does every bug report that gets resolved as intended need an explanation as to why said resolution was chosen?
It became a bug in 1.3 because of the multiplayer restructuring. I'm guessing they won't fix it because it will affect SMP? Still, the fact that all the in-game transitions were broken and won't be fixed kinda sucks.
Well they did add a percentage completion in the 1.13 snapshot so this should probably be reopened.
