Mesa biome generation
I was trolling around with the new snapshot, when i saw this weird formation. the F3 menu said the biome was ´mesa´, but there was just stone. the ´mesa plateau´ did spawn though.

That's not a broken savannah, that's a broken Mesa.

Duplicate of MC-29446, which indicates that should be fixed now.
This still occurs in a completely fresh install with the latest snapshot.
To reproduce:
Can confirm, the "ninja update" did not work. Tested on two clients.
Mods please open this. Ninja update didn't work and they didn't include the fix for the server jar.
Is confirmed for the re-upload of 36a. It is much worse.
It looks like all the blocks that are supposed to be spawning as hardened clay or stained clay are spawning as air blocks. This applies not only to the main portions of the land, but also to the shorelines and lakes in the area, which have large air pockets underneath them where the clay is probably supposed to be.

Just to be sure, if every air block would be Hardened Clay... wouldn't that be a little bit too much Hardened Clay? I think they're not just missing that, otherwise... hey, more hardened clay than we could ever use!
Some very extreme examples of this. VERY extreme.
It looks soooo cool. Sucks its a glitch though.
Minor confirmation for me; the mesa biome spawned sand and what not, no hardened clay. Also had the water sources in the biome where the water was only one block thick and then air underneath. A mod believes it is a combination of this bug and one other bug.
I accidentally put myself RIGHT in the middle of one of these while using NBT editors to move myself, since I had teleported near the edge of the world (30000000x 30000000z) and encountered the crash the snapshot has. Looks so insane from the air.
I'd like to see something like that as a rare biome.

Mesa biome is just so badly generate. As well as rare too
For me, the Mesa biome does not generate at all. I have gone through over 20 new maps & can't find one anywhere.
