Items lost when shift clicking in full container / inventory
If I shift click items in a full chest the items are lost. They disappear but obviously don't go in the chest since it's full. This also happens if the chest is nearly full but say one slot only has 30 items if I try to put one entire stack all of it will go while only 34 should. The items simply disappear

Not just chest but when you shift click into any full inventory it seems.
Also if you have a full hotbar and if you try to shift-click it into your hotbar, it will disappear.
Confirmed. Experienced this bug in multiplayer, also confirmed that the items are not only invisible, but gone entirely.
Bug disappeared after a few minutes in the world: has yet to reappear.

Confirmed singleplayer 15w38b, I would avoid shift clicking anything in your inventory for the time being to avoid any losses. My poor unbreaking I leather boots I got off a zombie. ;(
Also for horse with no chest. Item is deleted if riding on a horse without a chest and shift clicking on the item.

I just clicked to drag a item to my inventory and it just deleted itself. No I did not shift click.
This doesn't happen only from inventory to full chests. It also happen from chests, anvils, furnaces, etc. to full inventory.
I can confirm this too. If any item is shift-clicked and has no possible destination, it vanishes. Also shift-clicking any item to send it to hotbar just destroys it. 15w38b.
Edit: I just noticed it's been fixed for future version.
I found that holding shift and right clicking when my inventory is NOT full but when the furnace has items in it causes the clicked item to vanish.
To reproduce:
Furnace has input, fuel and output slots.
Iron Ore in input, output and fuel empty.
Gold Ore in inventory, Shift + Right Click
Gold Ore disappears.
