MCPE-8094Tree branches cut through blocks when grown
Mega jungle tree and dark oak branches can cut through full blocks when grown from saplings, rather than simply growing around the blocks as with giant oaks.
Found by planting 2x2 arrangement of saplings from the tree types listed above next to a 4-block row of full blocks in the area where the tree's branches spawn (shown in the attached images). Grown using bonemeal while in creative mode.

When I sprout the mud, then when the tree grows, it remains dirt instead of logs.

rplatham edit: The original bug report and pictures below refer to MCPE-8094, but the other bug (the one in the title) is the one I have been testing. Basically, bonemeal doesn't work on tree saplings. I've tested in a new pure survival world and in new creative converted to survival worlds.
Yes, thank you. I had interpreted your description slightly wrong. Both are bugs. The bug of having the dirt replace the tree blocks is known. See MCPE-8094.

I can not confirm this on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Android 5.0 Version: 0.11.1. The leaves cut through, not a bug, but the branches do not. No blocks are replaced.
Note that big oak branches are not a viable source for the issue; as written in the description, this is only known to affect dark oak and mega jungle trees.

Confirmed to effect 0.12.1 on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 9.0).
Confirmed on Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1 Dirt blocks floating above a 2x2 jungle sapling were destroyed by the tree generated when I applied bonemeal to the sapling group.
Does this bug still appear in 0.13.0? If so please respond.
Well, is this the same issue?
I see some trees generated when creating a new world have been 'cut off,' or seem to cut off at chunk boundaries.

I am referring to another issue, but I am uncertain if this has been reported separately.

This still happens in 1.2.13.60 for jungle saplings. I ran the same experiment, in the same world which I just was able to get into after a long time of crashing, and jungle tree branches replace bedrock wall when the tree grows.
