When I try to install a snapshot or 1.19 it comes up with the error: Unable to decompress file. I have no idea of what to do.
Every time I try and Install a snapshot or the 1.19 update the error:

When I try to install a snapshot or 1.19 it comes up with the error: Unable to decompress file. I have no idea of what to do.

Java was already updated to the latest available version, but I uninstalled and reinstalled it to be safe and there was no change to my issue since it had to do with the included JRE.
I pointed Minecraft to run from my system's java executable and encountered MCL-18306 which required me to delete the JavaCheck.jar file in the game directory for the Minecraft Launcher installation. Post-JavaCheck.jar deletion, the game booted.
This does not solve the initial cause of MCL-21565 which seems to stem from a failed file download. The file JabSwitch.exe does exist in the filesystem under ..\runtime\java-runtime-gamma\windows-x64\java-runtime-gamma\bin, but registers as an empty file with a size of 0B, consistent with @TouchierDwarf125 having a copy of "splashcreen.dll" that is 0B in size.

Edit: I have reason to believe that the issue is directly correlated to IPV6 issues. After disabling IPV6 on my router, I was able to successfully download the missing file nearly instantaneously, and boot into Minecraft as normal.
Cursory research leads me to believe this may either be a general IPV6 issue, an issue with intel NICs, or a combination of both. Further testing required

Could you please uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall the Launcher?

I am also having this issue, except it gives me the a different file path:

Same problem, though instead of the spashscreen.dll it's the lcms.dll and on the full release (1.19):
Happened on June 7th.
I am having the same issue, I have no idea how to fix it but it really bums be out because I have been so excited for 1.19. I hope it gets fixed soon.

To the people currently having the issue:
Are you using the MS store launcher or the standalone .msi launcher?
Here is the issue
I found out that the "splashscreen.dll" is downloaded, but the file is empty (has 0 bytes). Why it doesn't download, idk, but it might help.
I have the latest windows,
I am using the Microsoft launcher I am fairly certain, is there a way to tell?
I am on win7 an I assume I am on the standalone launcher since I haven't changed it since before I account migrated.
Also changing back to Minecraft 1.18 allows me to play but if I change it back to 1.19, it will start a download of around 2.75 - 3.75 MB and it will give me the error log
RESOLVED - PC Java version
I have used both the .msi and the windows store launchers and both produced the same errors, until....
My recommendation / fix:
In short, try the D.E.R.T method.
I think after resetting my Windows 11, it deleted all of the files including the old launcher files, and after re-installing the OLD launcher here, something was fixed.

CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11600KF @ 3.90GHz 3.91 GHz (No OC)
RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) 3200MHz
JRE: Version 8 Update 333
GPU: EVGA Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB VRAM (No OC)
Reset Windows 11 completely and reinstalled everything from scratch.
Amplifying information: Partner updated at the same time as me, almost Identical system with the only outlier being: Her system is Windows 10 Home, while my system run Windows 11 Home.
Currently, the fix has been found.
My thoughts: I believe the problem was isolated to the new launcher.
The Windows 7/8 launcher, after complete wipe and reinstall, works with Minecraft version 1.19; Find it here.

how do i do that on mac?
I don't own a Mac anymore but I assume it would be by uninstalling Minecraft and the .dmg and redownloading it and installing it. If I had one I'd try it for ya.
Will I lose all my worlds if i delete all monecraft folders and uninstall? I have some crazy hardcore worlds that I really don't want to lose...

It can't be, as I am still using the old launcher, installed using the MSI.
Just deinstalling and reinstalling the old launcher fixed it for me. View XxProudxGamerxXs comment for more detail.
I have the similiar problems too. Sometimes is jvm.dll. Sometimes is another. But I found maybe there is a good way to solve the problem: In the verson edit - more options - JAVA EXECUTABLE, change JAVA such as JAVA version 17.0.1 in the minecraft bundle JAVA folder (or other proper JAVA version you have installed on your PC). Then you can play 1.19 as usual. So I think maybe the bundle JAVA has some issues.
