When I try to start up anything, the launcher gives me this error.
"The game directory is invalid or inaccessible.
Error details: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Filename on disk: .minecraft
Path: C:\Users\William\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
Exists: directory"
Notes: This started happining after the switch from the old laucher (the one that didnt have the skins tab) to the new one (the one with the skins tab)
I know this looks like a duplicate of MCL-5367, but I uninstalled my antivirus, and it still had the error. I do not know how to fix the problem based on the duplicate case.

Caused by AV, mcafee, or Avast + something else, and one with kaspersky from what we seen.
So I have to remove my security protection for minecraft? That is absurd. I am having the same problem as this guy on windows.
What antivirus you have? Because those are known to interfere with minecraft, blame the AV manufacturers
Norton, also I never had this problem with the old launcher. This new one was a terrible decision and it's making me pissed.

Mine didnt work until I got rid of my Anti Virus which was ByteFence
ByteFence causes a different issue(a lang file or xml instead of a .jar),
MCL-5546. If thats your case, follow the steps to uninstall ByteFence thereI always get a different filename.
