Summary:
When playing on a mobile device with an external keyboard attached, the keyboard does not function fully.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Connect a compatible keyboard and mouse to an android device
- Open a world in Minecraft
- Try out the following keyboard keys:
- Shift - Cannot move downwards when flying
- Space - cannot repeatedly jump if held down when walking
- Slash - Cannot hit slash then start typing, you have to manually click or tap on the text input area
- Return - Does not work in chat, you have to use shift+return instead
- Tab - Autocomplete doesn't work
- CTRL+A/X/C/V - Do not function correctly (Unless you copy text from outside minecraft first)
Observed Results:
The above examples don't function as expected.
Expected Results:
I expected the keyboard functionality to mimic that of the Windows 10 Edition.

Mouse movement not working is not considered a Bug at this time. Please see MCPE-9815.
The problem with server ip address input with keyboard has been resolved in the 1.16.210.54 beta.
So as it turns out, there's not any keyboard and mouse support in Minecraft according to the support team. They sent me this:

Yes it does, No compatibility. To move your screen around you have to hold the left click on your mouse and drag the screen around. It is also appearing in the beta builds

Yes it does. I just went and tried. To move your screen around with the mouse on slip touch you have to click and hold while you move your mouse around. And the only keys on your keyboard that work are Esc, and W, A, S, D. And the up down left and right arrows.

The CLICK+HOLD drag to change pitch and yaw is still an issue on 0.15.0.
Was just on Live stream and was told that this probably shouldn't be like that as it should be like Win10...I offered to put in a JIRA ticket...however noticed that this one already existed.
I've tried this on both my Nexus 6, Pixel C as well as my Atom Based PC running Android X86 (at least in 0.14.0-0.14.3, need to update that box and try again).
To reproduce, just connect a Bluetooth mouse, then while walking around try to turn your head. To do so, you will need to CLICK Drag as if you were touching the screen. I would have thought having split touch enabled would correct this, however it doesn't matter if split touch is enabled or not.

He mentioned that he has not written the pointer capture function at this time - although it is high on his list. I would suggest keeping this open until that is written for Android - as it certainly works fine in Windows 10 edition.

You use your mouse to look around and break/place blocks. Go to your settings and keyboard and mouse controls, there should be an option that says, "Enable Keyboard controls, " Or something like that, select it on or off.
