Iron Golem texture has multiple errors (fixed texture included)
The bug
The Iron golem's texture contains several textural errors:
- The left hand uses a placeholder texture, unlike the right hand

- Another placeholder texture
can be seen when moving into iron golems - Instead of fading to brown and then suddenly becoming metal again
, the feet should be completely brown
- The bottom of the lower body
should be more detailed, like the bottom of the upper body - The left and right arm should be switched, because currently the left arm has vines disconnected from the other vines
, and if we switch the arms all vines are connected
This
is the current texture, this texture
fixes these problems. It also removes all unused parts in the texture.
For a more detailed explanation behind Vextrove's changes to the texture, please read this Reddit post.

How do I know it's a placeholder texture?
In this image I have colored the pixels that aren't used in game red, the pixels that are used by a polygon which is inside of another cube of the entity model which can only be seen by moving into the entity yellow, and the things you'd normally see with green. As you can see the parts that are colored red are mostly white squares with grey outlines, which I believe are leftovers of a placeholder texture of an Iron Golem. (the red parts are probably there because the Iron Golem entity model probably was changed during development too)
I also think the bottom faces of the legs of Iron Golems should be completely brown, instead of the legs fading to brown and then then turn into the base metal texture with no fade.
I also think the bottom face of the lower body should be more detailed, like the bottom face of the upper body.
One last thing, I think the left and right arm's textures should be switched, because right now the left arm has vines which are completely disconnected from the other vines, and if we switch both arm textures the vines look like they are connected to the vines from the body, this can't be a coincidence, this is the way I believe it's supposed to be!
This is my proposed replacement for our current texture, it changes the left arm's bottom face's grey placeholder texture to the finished texture (same as right arm), makes the lower body bottom face texture more detailed and similiar to the upper body bottom face texture, makes the white placeholder texture that can be seen by walking into an Iron Golem brown, just like the adjacent pixels, and changes both leg's bottom face textures into brown, makes the bottom row of pixels on both arms a little bit brighter so they look better, and it switches the right and left arm so the vines are the way they are probably supposed to be. It also removes all unused textures so it's easier to understand for future resource pack creators.

Lower body
The lower body of the iron golem has mismatched textures for both the top and bottom.
If you read the texture, you'll see that what appears to be to top texture is actually applied to the bottom face. The bottom face should be a light color to match the bottom pixels of the side faces.
(I'm aware of the comment on MC-112679, but it is only half the issue here)
Legs
The bottom of the legs are light, whereas the bottom pixels of the legs' sides are dark.
Head
The bottom of the head is dark, whereas the bottom pixels of the head's sides are light.

Changed you to the reporter on request;
Mind adding the current texture, fixed texture and the mistakes only in the description to the ticket? Would make things a bit faster, as the reddit post is quite a big text.
Can confirm this in 1.12, was wondering about it myself when I saw the texture and it's still the case.
Hope it gets fixed soon, even if texture packs can fix it so to say.
Was this bug there ever since the addition of Iron Golems?
Affects 1.13-pre3.
Affects 1.13.1. Also i want to claim the ticket.
Reporter changed to Play Dash Number f800f8 000000 since Roelof Buter hasn't been active since January 2017.
I wonder if it is any other mobs in the game that has this same bug or issue?
Confirmed for 18w43c.
Play Dash Number f800f8 000000, if you ask for the ticket, you've gotta keep it up to date
okey
The left hand bug is fixed but the other is not fixed in 19w08a/b.
Confirmed for 1.14.4 and 19w46a.
Hands, etc everything outside of the mob is fixed. But not going to spend time fixing the inside, you're not really going to look inside Its body all the time.
It seems the vine on the arm wasn't changed. The left arm is completely detached from vines on the body, but has the vine, whereas it's vice versa with the right arm.
The bottom of the feet were also not corrected.
Should I create a new report for this?
