However, this issue is a Duplicate of MC-124123.
It has been linked to this report. If you have additional information, please add it to that report.
The issue is caused not specifically by the cave spider, but rather that it is CaveSpider with capitals, instead of the new ID cave_spider in lower case.
As far as I can tell, it looks like this is a fairly old world (not newly generated)? That might explain why the old ID is present (though of course the game should be converting them). In the mean time I might recommend using a new world if you want to look at the generation.

The bug
When Minecraft loads a custom superflat preset, the game can crash. This will happen if a semicolon ( ; ) is placed before the id of a block (eg. "minecraft:stone")
What I expected to happen was:
Minecraft would not crash, and revert to the "Classic Flat" preset, as it did in previous versions.
What actually happened was:
Minecraft crashed.
How to reproduce
- Click "Create New World"
- Select "Superflat" world type
- Go into the the superflat customization settings
- Put in the block id of a block (eg. "minecraft:stone")
- Place a semicolon, as you would if you were going to specify a biome id
- Specify another block id instead
- Click "Use Preset"
->
Minecraft crashes

Doesn't necessarily seem to be a duplicate of MC-124123 (although probably strongly related). I reported this issue upon the recommendation of Kumasasa.
This issue might relate to/duplicate MC-124123.
roitel, consider using a tool that might be capable of deleting the corrupted chunk. If you want to kill the horse, do so before upgrading the world to 1.13. As of 1.11, the horse's entity id is now minecraft:horse, making it more difficult to target in a 1.13 world. Additionally, /kill only kills entities in loaded chunks.
We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.
Please attach the crash report found in minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt here.

Another Crashreport:
If you want more info please say so
Still in 18w14b. Looks like that regex is missing some stuff, based on the error msg:
It's looking for
but it's finding : and S, which aren't in the expression. Regex should probably be
right?
(edited to make inline code into code blocks... JIRA really wanted to turn the underscores into italics tags)
I should note that while this happens on startup now, it first occurred when I entered an older area, which must've had a skeleton loaded in it.
Latest crash report:
If I recall correctly: paths are supposed to be all lowercase, but the issue is that it's not being upgraded properly. Though your mention of the : is also interesting – it's supposed to be split into a namespace (minecraft) and the other part, but if the regex is being run against the whole thing then something weird is happening (I'm not 100% sure if it is or isn't; it might be outputting the whole thing).
Affects latest snapshot, 18w15a.

Something I'm seeing that I didn't catch in any other comments here is my world is on Peaceful but a zombie is causing the crash.
I can confirm for 18w16a
crash-2018-04-20_18.19.08-server.txt
Had the same issue, the world loads find in the snapshot but when I start to wonder it will crash as well. crash-2018-04-22_18.35.17-server.txt
Reopened due to
MC-130105happening in 18w21aStill present in 18w22c
I'm not 100% sure but this bug may still be present in 1.13. Recently I was creating a custom superflat preset, and at one point when I clicked "Done", the game crashed. I analyzed the crash report and immediately thought of this issue when I saw this:
