Snow layers on grass blocks don't make grass snowy unless manually placed
The bug
When grass is generated in the world with snow layers on top, it sometimes generates with "snowy:false", as shown in the screenshot. (This only happens in particular spots, like many other world generation glitches, so this might be related to older worldgen issues as well)
Snow layers appearing via weather also do not update the snowy value correctly. When placed manually by a player or a command, it correctly updates the grass block.
I think this might be a result of block state update code lost during the flattening? Not sure.

-I partly confirm for 18w16a. World generation doesn't make grass blocks snowy, weather does.-_That's how it was all the time. This issue is for the world generation as when it's snowing, the blocks update anyway.

Cannot reproduce with a freshly created world with that seed. Did you create the world in some 1.13 development snapshot before MC-124312 has been fixed?

Duplicate of
MC-45528May be a reappearing issue; but will not be resolved as that as there’s almost 3.5 years between the fix and reappearance. Mojang also recently asked to not resolve things that appeared in new versions as duplicate of older-actually previously fixed-reports.
I can confirm this bug is still present, made a new world in 18w06a and the same issue spans over whole snow biomes:
Can confirm this bug is still present in 18w08a
Affects 18w09a
Affects 18w11a
I partly confirm for 18w16a. World generation doesn't make grass blocks snowy, weather does.
Confirmed in 18w20a.
Affects 18w20b
Affects 18w20c
Affects 18w21a
Affects 18w22a
I wouldn't say this exactly clones
MC-45528, since that one completely prevents grass from being snowy. Not the same thing indeed, so it shouldn’t clone it.
I don't see why it shouldn't be included with a relates to link.
Bacause that was a mistake with the model/block state file missing/having a wrong reference, this one is a problem with the block state itself, which are not related.
MC-140823, seemingly a duplicate of this bug, has 18w49a as its affected version, suggesting this bug isn't fixed. Reopen, please.I'll reopen once the seed from
MC-140823has been provided and the issue has been reproduced in 18w49a.
