The bug
The hitbox of crops on farmland is not properly aligned to the farmland. Instead, it looks as if the farmland had normal block height.
This is a screenshot of the bug happening:
To reproduce
- Stand on a slab in front of two dirt blocks on top of each other
- Use a hoe on the upper dirt block to turn it into farmland
- Place crops on it
- Focus the crops and notice that the hitbox is floating

MC-214129 was marked as fixed for this snapshot, but despite mentioning farmland, it remains outwith this tag.
Farmland's absence from this tag especially is without a doubt causative of many issues:
- MC-168262: Dead bushes cannot be placed on top of it
- MC-168264: Sugar cane cannot be placed on top of it
- MC-168265: Bamboo cannot be placed on top of it
- MC-195308: Twisting vines cannot be placed on top of it
While the blocks may have been left out of this tag due to not being full cubes, I do not consider this a valid excuse as a large number of other blocks (saplings, flowers, ...) can be placed on top of it already (being affected by MC-104092 and MC-164918 as a result, and even crops themselves are subject to MC-135269). If the absence from the tag is to be considered intended, non-crop blocks should probably be forbidden from being placed on it, however having them still be placeable on top would be preferable.
