Cobwebs are affected by block lighting in full sky lighting
The bug
Cobwebs, when not lit by block light, appear darker than the light level they actually have. Note that this does not affect similar blocks such as flowers and saplings. (May have to do with the fact that cobwebs project shadows).
Note that brightness must be set to moody for this to be reproducible (on full brightness, they all look the same; on moody, the brightness varies from dark to the brightness seen on full).

Confirmed
Spider webs have done this since at least 1.6, probably earlier (couldn't be bothered to test further back). They behave exactly the same in 1.7.4 as in 14w07a.
I'm pretty sure this is a feature, not a bug. Spider webs have the same effect as plant leaves on lighting.
Whoops, wrong bug. Updated for the actual bug present. Noticed the darker cobwebs and assumed.
I don't see how this is disturbing though
...and just noticed this affects 1.7.4 too. Odd, I never noticed it before.
Umm...no, not fixed. Still affects 14w31a.
Also make sure that your brightness is on moody. The bug is not noticeable on bright.
Still affects 14w34b.
Is the resolution supposed to be "Won't fix"? 'Cause it's not fixed...
Reopened.
Confirmed for 1.9-pre2 on moody brightness.
Confirmed for 17w17b
Appears to have been fixed 1.13-pre5 (can repro in pre4 but not in pre5).
Reproduced in pre6. Brightness < 100% required.
I tried it and it wasn't happening even at 0% brightness. Can you attach a screenshot with F3 visible?
Ah, I actually can reproduce now, if I rebuild my setup. I think
MC-125900or something broke the skylight levels in the world and that was affecting it (though, that doesn't entirely make sense). This issue also seems to affect shulker boxes in the 1.15 snapshots. This is mostly noticeable on withe shulker boxes with the brightness set to moody.
Capopanzone, please create a new ticket for that, if we don't have one already.
Can confirm in 21w05b.
Can confirm in 21w06a.
Can confirm in 1.17.1.
Can confirm in 1.19.2. MC-48666.png
