Steps to Reproduce:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility
- Enable "Open Chat Message"
- Build a nether or end portal
- Enter the portal multiple times
Observed Results:
The chat instructions are displayed every time the player passes through the portal.
Expected Results:
The chat instructions should only be displayed once or not be displayed at all.

Also happening on 1.11.1. Note that it also seems to happen when you initially join a world/realm.
Added a screenshot (thanks TigerPlaysMC).
Affects all platforms (1.11.1 and 1.11.2).
Shows every time to the player after loading into any dimension, including rejoining any world and / or Realm.
Note that other players' chats (and ones produced by Command Blocks) can be heard on TTS before the game actually outputs that message (most likely on mobile, those "chats" said before the "bugged" message shows to the player, are likely going to be missed by those without TTS enabled unless they open chat after joining / switching dimensions).
Can confirm for windows 10, xbox 1, and mobile. Since 1.11. Really annoying bug >.<

Still affects 1.11.4, and it happens when traveling from ANY dimension to any other dimension. Still just as annoying as ever.
Confirm to affect all 1.12.0.X betas. Exactly as Silentwhisperer prescribes, it happens when travelling from all dimensions to any other dimensions.
Still affects 1.13.0.2 beta even though the changelog says its fixed. Happens when traveling between every dimension for me on xbox.

I can confirm it since 1.11 for Xbox One and for iPad. This bug is so annoying !
It affects the 1.13.0.18 beta as well. Same for 1.14.0.2 beta.
I would accept a lazy fix at this point. Just remove the prompt altogether or change its output string to a single space. Who even needs this prompt anyway? Press T, Return... is currently covering about 90% of my chat window. Make it stop!
In 1.13, there should be an option in the settings to disable the chat instructions.
Still affects 1.13, but only if you have the "enable open chat message" turned on.
Can turn off "Enable open chat message", though seriously idk why players need to be told how to open chat at all, nvm every time they go through a portal? Should default the option to OFF, or better yet, remove it entirely. We don't get prompts for other common controls during unrelated activities in the game.

I myself have not experienced this bug for a few releases now on Android 8.1 running Bedrock 1.14.30. Not sure whether or not it came back in the newest beta.

I am on 1.14.30 and if you have the “Enable open chat message” setting turned on. It does in fact still pop up when changing any dimension. I’m on iOS.
That's what the setting does, apparently. So if you don't want to see the messages, you have to turn off the toggle.
this bug is still around as of beta 1.16.0.58
If you toggle Enable open chat message to OFF does the message still show when entering the portal?
I think there's multiple things playing here. First of all: the toggle works, all the "press .. to open chat" messages disappear. Why this is still considered a bug can have 2 reasons I think. Either, people are unable to find said toggle, or, when the toggle is turned ON again, the hint is still unreasonably spammed in chat, where people would expect it to show up only once at the start or at least less often.
My guess would be that most people consider this "bug" fixed only when the whole "feature" is completely removed from existence, but I may be wrong. 🙂
