Nether Portals broken
Not sure if its BDS or the actual pc client, but as soon as both the windows 10 bedrock edition client and the Bedrock Dedicated Server version were updated today, Started having issues with nether portals. Going from the Nether to the Overworld seems to work fine (goes to the correct place/portal), but going from the overworld to the nether dumps you at the exact same coordinates in the nether. In most cases there is no portal when you land in the nether, and it will stick you inside blocks, or drop you into lava.
I have tested multiple portals, same result. I have tried breaking portals on both sides and recreating/relighting, same thing.

For the newer issue related to Nether portals, please see MCPE-54519, which seems to affect Realms/dedicated servers more than single player worlds, and isn't related to eating when using the portal.

Several content creators have reported in videos that if you originally "light" the portal on the side of the frame then you may take damage when using it, even if it otherwise works normally (ie, it takes you to the correct place and creates a portal where it takes you if none already there). If you "light" the portal on the bottom of the frame then you did not take suffocation damage (in 1.12 anyway). This may or may not be related to MCPE-54519, which applies to 1.13, where the portal takes you to the wrong coordinates AND you take damage because you are spawned inside solid blocks.
It does seem though that taking any kind of damage before the world fully generates is a bug, since the player is powerless to do anything about it and the amount of time to generate the world is variable. What should happen is that the player is immune to damage until the moment the world is done generating and appears to the player.

Since nether portals are a minimum of 2 blocks wide, you are overstating the precision of the coordinates. I agree that this is not a duplicate of MCPE-54519, though.
In addition to the 1/8 scale factor for the X and Z coordinates, a nether portal also uses the Y coordinate (with 1/1 scaling). The point for which the calculation is done is the point where you contact the purple portal block, so there's always variability involved. For the smallest 2 x 3 portal, there are 6 blocks where you might make contact, and each would result in a slightly different calculation. For a larger portal, the calculated coordinates can range over a much larger area, and if you fly into it even the Y coordinate can vary significantly. A further complication is that if the two portals are oriented at right angles to each other, there's a rotation as well as scaling to consider.
Also, the entry and exit portals can be different sizes, in which case an additional scaling calculation has to be done so that, for example, if you fly in near the top you'll emerge near the top, still flying and not crashing into the ground.
If the two portals aren't being modified between uses, entering at a given position should always cause you to exit at the same position, but entering at a slightly different position can make a big difference because it can cause the calculated destination to be in a different chunk when the portals are oriented at right angles. I suspect what's happening here is that you are entering at different X/Y/Z coordinates at different times and the Y level sometimes scales to position where a portal can't exist, so the game is forced to search for a portal. However, I'm only guessing.
I really don't think your portal is acting randomly, though, so it should be explainable. It would be helpful to know whether entering the same spot while walking always delivers you to the same spot in the overworld.

Nether portals cannot despawn. I assume you mean that it disappeared. Did the entire portal including the obsidian disappear, or only the purple part?
If only the purple part disappeared, you probably blew it up with your bed explosions. The portal field breaks quite easily and must be re-lit with an ignition source such as a flint and steel.
If the obsidian disappeared, this may be an example of the bug described in MCPE-54519.

The nether portal issues are reported in MCPE-54519. Not sure if the "end portal" issue and "eating" issue have been reported elsewhere, but I do know that the moderators require that only single issues be reported on each entry as otherwise it makes it much harder to track since they probably won't be fixed at the same time or by the same dev.
I strongly agree with you that for issues, like this broken nether portal one, that literally hundreds of people are experiencing in a short time after a new release that someone official from Mojang should be expected to comment that at least they are aware of the problem and consider it a priority. I know that this is not a "discussion forum" but would at least help reduce the frustration many of us are experiencing. And, simply having a helper / moderator tell us that there are other forums / feeds about this is neither helpful, nor acceptable.

However, this issue is Invalid.
Please put only one bug report in each ticket. It is very difficult to keep track of bugs when they are not in their own tickets, and it is easier for you to make multiple tickets than for the mods to separate them.

When in creative you can fly through a nether portal with an elytra and it will transport you to the same x,z coordinates in the nether as you were in the overworld, similar to the previous eating in a nether portal bug (MCPE-54519). It can also create an invisible portal in the nether as shown in the video. I first found this on a realm and came back and tested it in a new world on my phone and it happened both times. I managed to get to the far lands using this bug quite easily.

Can confirm it is happening on our Dedicated server as well. We have a one year old Dedicated Server that can no longer make use of its Nether Hub.
Guess I should have provided an example:
If you left nether at -1000, ~, 1000 you would end up at the Overworld portal at -8000, ~, 8000
If you went back thru that same Overworld portal, you would get placed at -8000, ~, 8000 in the nether, with no portal in site, and possibly inside lava, netherack, or in the air.
This has also happened to a friend of mine on our realm, but going from the nether to the overworld.
Can also confirm this occasionally happens(on Realms), though unsure why. It is also possible to end up at an incorrect portal from Nether->Overworld(what I've experienced) if the Overworld portal you end at was "close enough" to the same Nether coordinates you went though.
This is the behavior eating has had in Nether portals for the past several updates, but something else is causing it now as well.
I can confirm this is happening. It doesn't seem to happen with every portal though, which is very weird. I've uploaded a short video clip of it happening.
Happened going from Nether to Overworld too. I had just created a new portal in nether at 0, 108, 131 and when I stepped through I was at the same X, Z coordinates in the Overworld with no portal there. Portal is 3x3 with X from -1 to +1. I think the last thing I had done was switch to my sword in the hotbar before entering the portal. I definitely did not "eat" just prior as that is known to cause issues.
The next time I used the portal (from the nether side) it worked as expected. I don't know if the first time created a portal in overworld at correct location.
Version 1.13 on Xbox One
We've had players on our current realm experience this issue. Once appeared in an open nether cave and the other suffocated in netherack. Just when you thought the going through the portal while eating food bug couldn't get any worse. Now it happens randomly. Congrats Mojang, you just broke nether hub travel! Please get this hotfixed ASAP!
Affects Android 8.1 LG Q6 on Realms 1.13.0 and Windows 10 Bedrock.
Our realm too. Andriod, iOS, Xbox, switch, and Win10. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. Some portals work fine but the ones nearby dump your thousands of blocks away. One example is an Overworld portal at 3300 -3000 which before the update went to the correct location now is spitting you out at -400 -400 in the nether (no didn't get those positive/negatives wrong). Another player went in their portal only to end up 2000 blocks away from where he expected to come out.
Appears this update includes the "Infinite Improbability Drive" from the Hitchhiker to the Galaxy series Never know where you are going to end up.
Our realm too. Not eating not moving standing center portal. Going to nether and arrive at same coordinates of the overwold portal that i left from with no potal in site. Going back to overworld i randomly suffocate while the loading screen stays on untill i die. Realm mate tells me i died in a wall.
I can Confirm That it is Happening 95% of time
And not only Nether portals; But also The End portls
I noticed 3 Possible things to Happen
1- The building terrain screen Stay forever (most of time) and
2-The same First thing But taking Damage
I dead for lava - Magma - Suffocate which Doesn't make any sense because nothing of it exists not in Where the portal should be or even the bugged one( in case it made one)
3- The world load Probably But You end up in the same coordinates of the overworld
I think Dying Only Happens in the nether portals
But ither than That The End is Has The same Bug
seems there is an invisible portal where you land in the next dimension. Once the cool down is done, try going back to the same spot you started and see if you teleport again.. Happened on our realm.
This is the same bug as
MCPE-39147. Basically what happens with this is the game doesn't do the division when you go thru a nether portal. So if you are at 100x100 in the overworld, you will end up at 100x100 in the nether. This bug is WAY worse in 1.13, even though it was suppose to have been removed. Before it only happened if you ate, right as you went through the portal. And now it happens randomly, and often :/
I echo the same experience as others in this thread. This is a seriously bad bug that makes traveling through the realm not only impractical, but dangerous. Please fix this one first as a patch update to 1.13 as it has the largest impact on the game play and waiting months for a fix will literally turn people away from the game altogether.
I can confirm this does happen on my realm - added 'bonus' is that we live 64,000 block away from spawn so when this happens things turn sour rather quickly...
This is happening to me on single player worlds realms and servers. the nether is pretty much inaccessible.
This is also happening on my BDS instance, Ubuntu Server 18.04
Went through nether portal (going to the over world from the nether) and suffocated to death.
this happened to me 3 times last night since the 1.13 update. first time i died from suffocation in blocks am not sure the coordinates because i died before the game even loaded to the nether. second time it moved me to the coordinates in the overworld to the nether. the third time from the nether coordinates to the overworld coordinates. This bug makes nether portal unsafe and very close to unusable.
Yes, we are having this same problem since the update on both single-player and multiplayer games. This has made world travel via the Nether impossible unless you are carrying anything you can afford to lose. Based on the Overworld distances to travel this has stopped all participation and is causing people to either stop all progress or to log out till fixed affecting the progress of the games and revenue streams. No one is wanting to pay for servers instances where you cannot use a large part of the system due to a bug.
I have noticed the suffocation damage too. In my world, it seems to happen only when the portal is up against a solid wall on one side. The game places me partially inside that wall. Did not happen until this 1.13 update.
I have the reverse effect on Android - going into the nether is fine, but entering the overworld it teleports me to the same coordinates, not 8× further...
Does anyone know where your stuff ends up after you die? I've suffocated and have no luck locating my items anywhere.
I'm having a similar but different issue with portals - they don't link back to the right one all the time. I have 3 portals very close to each other, and then another about 200 blocks away in the nether that leads to my home base. The three near each other send you to the wrong one in the overworld sometimes, picking another of the three that are near each other. Same goes for going from overworld to the nether. Sometimes though, when going nether to overworld, it takes me all the way back to my home base instead of the location it should (~1400 away in the overworld).
Worst of all though, sometimes it doesn't teleport you at all, and instead disconnects you from the Realm, and when you come back, it's at the save point you were at when you logged in.
@Alison Scott if you suffocate because it puts you inside a block, then all of your stuff will be trapped in the block too and disappear.
Generally, if items are inside a solid block and there is no open block adjacent, then they get deleted. For example, this sometimes happens to me when I am backfilling an area I have mined--if I place blocks too quickly or in such a way that the items can't get out, then the items just disappear.
This bug makes the Nether unplayable. I went through and was teleported to the same coordinates from where I was at in the overworld very far from the portal. My friend came behind me and went to the expected destination. He went back through to the overworld and was teleported to his previous coordinates of the portal from the Nether which put him underground and he suffocated. luckily I had a hunch to check those coordinates in the overworld and all his stuff had pushed up through the blocks and was sitting on the ground waiting for despawn. When I finally made my way to the portal in the nether and tried teleporting back to the overworld it looked like I was at the correct portal but was stuck in the side of the portal or something and suffocated. I had deposited all my gear in the nether before trying just in case.
Same issue. Portals randomly send you to correct location but sometimes send you to the wrong coordinates
Portal is sending me to the same coordinates in the Overworld. i.e. 1500, -500 in the overworld should've sent me to 187, -62, but it sends me to 1500, -500 in the Nether
I've replicated this using Bedrock Dedicated Server 1.13.0 with Android, iOS, and Windows Bedrock clients on both tablets and cellphones across multiple computers and devices. I've noticed that the behavior for this is not consistent, and sometimes it sends me to the right location in the Nether, but whenever it does this no one is able to go through another portal, and people have to log off and log in again.
I had this problem one the xbox one.
I have had similar results from portals. Either it sends me to some random other place, or it suffocates me while displaying a Building Terrain screen. I just attached a video of the former. I went through a portal that should have put me -16808,63,2947 However, put me somewhere else, then moved me back to the neither at -241,42,-6(with NO portal) at a portal that leads to -1926,86,-51
I experience the same problem, but I found that eating while going through the portal does not trigger the problem (new overworld portal generated correctly), can anyone test?
Same issue (on world/seed created in 1.12):
Old Overworld (1) 537,46,-46 links (both ways) to new Nether (1) 532,7,-33.
Old Overworld (2) 212,65,57 links (both ways) to new Nether (2) 211,63,58.
Teleportation is delayed and suffocation damage experienced (with new and old). No difference noticed with eating
New Nether (1) was established non-existent, could walk through area and mine around (although obsidian did drop). Loading a previous save and trying again, if built on the Obsidian would become visible with activated portal blocks correctly aligned.
New Nether (2) was visible with immediate drop to lava on one side.
Versions: (Linux) BDS 1.13.0.34 - client Windows 10 1.13.0
1.13 bedrock server. Portals no longer linked, keeps sending me to random place.
I am having this issue on a bedrock server. It was updated to 1.13 from 1.12.
This issue is confirmed to be affecting multiple users.
The teleports drop us into the nether thousands of blocks from the portal with no nether portal to return to the overworld.
The random teleport happened 100% of the time when going through each nether portal after the update. After the first entry of each portal, the occurrence rate started sharply declining, until now where it hasn't happened to me at all today.
When it happens, the world transitions to a generating world loading screen. It remains stuck on this screen for an extended time. I suspect it is waiting to generate all the chunks in viewing distance. I upped the viewing distance cap to 80 chunks, and it takes an extended time to load all the chunks for a new player connecting to the server as well. It has clearly loaded me into the nether despite the loading screen. I could hear enemy mobs and was actively under attack from a ghast while the loading screen was still up. In one case, I died while the loading screen was up, and when the screen disappeared, I had to respawn at my bed. If I kill Minecraft and reconnect as soon as I can see that I am stuck in the loading screen, the nether loads right away, and I can watch the chunks generating.
I am not sure why the occurrence rate has declined, even to the extent that it hasn't happened to me again today, despite attempting to repeat it. I do suspect that it is because the world has generated the full 80 chunks viewing range around the nether portal in the nether now.
*Edit* After nearly a full day of no random teleports, it has started happening frequently again.
This bug shows as follows, as verified by myself or others I play closely with:
Going from nether to overworld
Going from overworld to nether
Xbox, Windows 10 and Android
Realms and Servers... no verified single player instances in my experience
Location you are teleported to truly seems to be random. I have seen someone sent to 100, 100 and someone sent to 20k, 20k
The "new" portal does not always show up right away, and going through it does not take you back to your original location. If you log out and back in, the "new" portal will show up. We have been breaking them.
This has nothing to do with eating.
Symptoms are, you enter portal and it does not take you to where it should.... ie Overworld coords/8. It instead takes to to some other seemingly random location. I have looked for correlation between coordinates, but have found none.
This bug is game breaking. I play on a realm and a server, and attendance is down upwards of 80%. This cannot wait for 1.14. With 4 people online (highest it has been all weekend) we had it happen 10 times in the 2 hours I was playing. Admins spent more time teleporting people from 10K blocks out than playing their own game.
Fully updated Samsung s10+ minecraft pocket edition experiencing this bug.
Going through a portal (from nether into overworld) that previously took me to a woodland mansion at around -10000, -9000 now takes me to the exact coordinates of the nether portal into those same coordinates in the overworld.
Image on the left is the portal I come out of. Image on the right is nether portal.
Also worth noting the overworld portal does not appear until I save and come back into the game.
Invisible portals also appear if you update blocks directly adjacent to where the portal is.
I am also running into this issue on a Bedrock Realm. Going from Nether to Overworld usually works when I'm close to 0,0,0. But Nether to Overworld, outside of the initial spawn area, sends me to the same coordinates in the Overworld, instead of the proper 8 block ratio.
Running into this issue on Bedrock as well, in a Realm. Portals are sending people to chunks thousands of blocks away, and either spawning them without a new portal or creating a partially constructed portal in the middle of nowhere. We've tried destroying portals and relinking them, and this only works for a brief time, and then the portals become broken again on their own.
The worst bug of the history of Minecraft… This brokes the game completely. In my case Overworld portals works fine but when I use a Nether portal I spawn sometimes in random location without portal or I spawn in random spawn with new portal close to others.
With that bug the overworld it's fully of random portals and you appear in random locations when you try to return from nether.
I just want to note that the consistency of this issue is extremely inconsistent. While preparing for a team fight of the ender dragon on Bedrock Dedicated Server, we had a base at ~(1500, -500) and a stronghold at ~(1500, 2700). Nether portals were supposed to connect these together, but everyone going through the portal for the stronghold from the Nether landed at the (0, 0) portal.
We had 8 clients connected, and 2/8 were teleported to (0, 0), while another 3 were unable to connect at all after going through the portal and had to restart the game.
I am having this issue also but it is happening when i go from nether to overworld as well as overworld to nether. Please fix its so hard to play the game with this bug.
This bug is so ridiculous... many of my realm players are refusing to play until it is fixed, because they have lost all of their gear!!! So dumb.
Experiencing this issue as well. I went through a portal in nether (coordinates 592,65,-535) and it dumped me out at in the overworld at 592,Y,-535 instead of the linked overworld portal 4766,73,-4284. Dumped location did not populate linked portal. Additionally, I have also had portals teleport me to a portal that is not linked.
I play on a realm and a server. When using portals they either randomly dump you anywhere with no portal created at the tp location or you get stuck in the loading terrain screen. You have to hard quit and then when you reload it dumps you in the void or you get suffocated in blocks. After this happens and I reload again, I spawn on the roof of one of my buildings at base. Sometimes it rolls back to a previius save sometimes it does not. Its all very inconsistent to be honest. But its unplayable in its current state in my opinion
We've been having this same problem in one of my realms. Stepping through the portal in the overworld transports you to your overworld coordinates in the nether. The first time this happened there was not even a portal where I materialized. The second time there was a portal, and going back through it crashed the realm. Going through another portal at our spawn area dumped you into a closed off little bubble in the nether, just a few blocks on a side with a portal wedged in, at 5 elevation, about 60 blocks lower than the portal in the overworld. Stepping back through this portal transported you back into the overworld … right into solid rock or something where you suffocated. The nether is now like Ravenholm … we don't go there anymore.
I have had the same issue several times now.
Nov/6/2019 at 4:33PM GMT -3
I entered a nether portal at coordinates 32, 69, 2 which should have sent me to overworld 304, 65, -4 but instead during the loading screen I started hearing that I was receiving damage so I logged out. After logging back in I found myself at overworld 34, 70, 4. Later I checked out and my totem of the undying (offhand) was gone, seems I died at that portal (I appeared at half health after logging back in).
Nov/6/2019 at 5:57PM GMT -3
Entered portal at location overworld -1700, 71, -350 went to nether portal -212, 93, -43 nether. Moved in nether to position 301, 67, 156 logged out, after some time I logged back in and entered portal 301, 67, 156. Instead of going to overworld coordinates 2407, 69, 1378 I found myself falling into the overworld ocean at 297, 70, 163. I looked up and saw no portal at that position. I went back to nether through overworld 304, 65, -4, walked to nether coordinates 301, 67, 156 and this time the portal worked ok and sent me to correct overworld coordinates 2407, 69, 1378. Today Nov/07/2019 at 08am GMT -3 a portal showed up where I dropped off in the sea.
All of this on a microsoft server (I don't want to paste the link here, but if you ask me I will gladly provide it).
Please try to fix this issue soon, it's terrifying trying to use the nether to fast travel and lose all our stuff :/
before) and been dropped in the middle of nowhere without a return portal. One time in the overworld and currently in the nether; I’ve been wandering about 20mins in a straight line trying to find one of my portals and no luck so far. Really don’t want to die as I have soooooo much good equipment right now...
I teleported Nether to Overworld and suffocated in a wall and died and lost all my stuff, I never recovered it... Happened after accidentally throwing trident before teleporting... I lost a lot of valuables
I have the same issue with the bedrock dedicated server. The issue started after I increased the view render distance in the server properties file. I was able to "fix" the issue by breaking the portal and decreasing the render distance in the server properties file.
When I had one portal set it worked fine now I added a second one the nether side works fine but it pops me away from the original overworld portal on Xbox version 1.13.0
I've posted this elsewhere, I too have had issues recently with nether portals. I have a realm with several maps explored most with Nether Portals so I can travel quickly across the various maps. I started randomly appearing near distant nether portals several maps away from where I'd been in the nether.
One time time I appeared in the overworld with no portal visible but when I stepped back the way I entered the overworld I was taken back to the Nether. Then upon re-entering I appeared in the same overworld location but this time with a portal.
Next time I went through I died in the portal and lost all my equipment.
I'm now traveling light when using the portals so I don't lose my gear.
Windows 10 version
It seems to TP me to alternate portals when I am moving within the portal; like when the eating while TP'ing glitch.
My problem with nether portals started with version 1.13
iPad and Xbox
Every time one of Realm members or myself use a nether portal. We either die or are teleported to the wrong portal. I expect some glitches with that game. I get that, but I don’t expect a glitch this bad that is basically game breaking! I pay hard earned money to have fun with friends but instead I pay for everyone to ether not play or die every time we use the a nether portal. This is highly unacceptable.
An interesting addition to this bug. I'm an admin in a realm, and we frequently use tp commands to get around when troubleshooting. After we had a player die in the portal, I went to try and figure out what happened by using the portal myself, but in creative mode. I didn't end up in exactly the same place, as evidence by the fact that I appeared in a cave and the player appeared inside solid blocks somewhere. Repeated usage put me in the same place, but first with no visible portal and subsequent trips with one. But here's the interesting bit. While I was in the nether, another moderator tried to tp to me not knowing I was in the nether. That should just fail with a message about not finding me in this dimension, but instead they saw the building terrain screen you see when you go through a portal. When it finished they found themselves still in the overworld but with the red haze effect from the nether, and a new portal had generated in the overworld where they had been standing.
Underlying cause might be the same, but the symptoms I'm seeing are different, closer to
MCPE-54806that has been marked as a duplicate.I have new bases 3000+ blocks from my spawn, when I create a Nether portal to cut down the distance and create a nether hub, it links to my spawn Nether portal... This is great for the journey back to spawn, but sucks for the trip back out there!
Standard survival 3 player realm, android, xbox and pc all broken.
Been having issues to the point where its no longer safe to go into the nether at all.
7 out of 10 times using a portal from the nether to get back, will spawn me in the same coordinates as in the nether, without changing the values.
Tried rebuilding the portals multiple times, still happens.
Playing on a realm with 3 people.
Fixed in 1.13.1.
got email that this is resolved in 1.13.1. That’s great except that update not available on the App Store for apple
Sorry, but this update did NOT 100% fix portal issues. Had a player test this by going through a few portals from both overworld and nether. 3rd trip from overworld to nether, did NOT result in proper transport through nether to proper location. Player suffocated and died.
Note this is a well calculated nether grid system so every portal is exactly where it needs to be in the overworld and in the nether. So this is NOT an issue of portals not being matched correctly.
REPEAT: This update may not fix the portal issues for all players. Please use caution.
Tested on Realms on LG Q6 Android 8.1 on Bedrock 1.13.1.
I just died going through a portal this issue isn’t fixed at all
This is not fixed. I’m thinking of stopping to play Minecraft again for years because this portal stuff is game breaking. My issue is portals are not working properly because a portal in the nether sends me to the exact same coordinates as the nether portal, but in the overworld. It mirrors the coordinates 1:1 instead of the 8:1 ratio, as it should.
This portal issue is combining a lot of someone different portal issues into one main issue by all being told it is a duplicate issue and this is is the main, original bug complaint, that now says fixed. C’mon. This is not fixed!
I am on bedrock survival realms 1.13 for iOS, the latest update.
Why are people who are not mods claiming that this is fixed in a version that is not released/does not exist?
@GoldenHelmet 1.13.1 is out for some platforms. I have it on Win 10.
Nice for you. Still no update for iOS users
Further Testing Results on our realm. Bug Still Exists for Certain Devices.
In our realm testing, we found certain mobile devices were still suffering periodic issues with the portal bug.
Symptoms are the following:
Two devices affected were a LG Q6 running Android 8.1 on Bedrock Realm 1.13.1
Also tested on a a Vivo XL running Android 7.1, but could not trigger the bug after multiple attempts at multiple portal locations.
Suggest realm owners get players with multiple mobile and other devices to test this bug with an empty inventory and record their findings.
Please re-open, Issue is not completely fixed.
As the fix has still not shown up for the iOS devices I would like to say that this issue is not fixed
Getting multiple reports that players are still experiencing this bug. This needs reopened!
I play on Win10 PC and the update did not get pushed to me, nor to my Nintendo Switch. I just went to Microsoft store and was able to manually download 1.13.105.0.
Occasionally, this has been experienced on Realms running in 1.13.1.
But I am unable to reproduce this on my Single Player World. Probably have to do with lag.
People there's still hope that it's fixed in 1.13.1, just hang with me. When I updated my MC on Android from 1.12.x (I don't remember the version) to 1.13.0, I had to wait 2 days for the Realms service to be updated to 1.13.0 because it was still running on 1.12, but right now we are playing 1.13.0 Realms through a 1.13.1 client, so the Realm bugs still exist, but we can access the Realms because both the Realm and client MC use 1.13 as the base of the version, so in singleplayer we are playing 1.13.1 but on Realms we're still experiencing 1.13.0, including the 1.13.0 bugs, just wait a little while. There's still hope, just hang in there. If I'm wrong, I guess I'm great at being naive.
My iOS has been updated to 1.13.1 and my issue, the portal ratios and being sent to the wrong coordinates, is fixed. Thank you for addressing this bug in this hot fix!
Please reopen my original portal set is still broken but all my other portal setswork fine please advise
I play on windows 10 and this bug just happened to me exiting the nether going back into the over world. Minecraft put me at the same coronets in the over world ie I was at -1000 64 200 in the nether and was dropped there in the over world
UPDATE: I was able to fix the issue by relighting the nether side of the effected portal so exercise caution and relight your portals as needed this has happened multiple time when leaving the nether the game doesn't multiply the coordinates for the over wold.
Thanks for the fix. It appears to be working on my Realm where I have multiple portals. Not only that, all the loot I had lost due to suffocating in the portal has reappeared next to one of my portals (not the one I had gone through at the time). So I have my enchanted diamond armour back!
Cheers!
NO LONGER FIXED
I recently updated to Minecraft Bedrock edition 1.16.210 and this has recurred once again. I play on iOS and this is something I am only just experiencing now. In this case, I was teleported to -10,000, -3,000 in the nether and lucky I am able to get back safely this is a BIG inconvenience. PLEASE fix this!
For the existing issue in 1.16.210 and later versions see
MCPE-115933I just encountered this yesterday, after updating to 1.16.220. I tried to reproduce this behavior in a new world and have been unsuccessful. The world I have the glitch in is pretty large but I’ll get it uploaded with some info on which portals do it.
I also have a screen recording showing how I used this glitch to exponentially warp to -31999872, 31999872. But it is 45 minutes long so I’ll try and edit it down before uploading it.
You will see in the video that it seems to me that this happens when going through the portal at full speed in creative. Now that I have found this bug tracker thread, I see that perhaps that was just pigeon superstition. Anyways I have become a bit obsessed with this bug and will probably play with it some more. I’ll post any more observations I come up with, of course.
I just now encountered this. It's especially frustrating that there was no portal generated where I ended up. I wasn't doing anything special (ie, eating, flying, sprinting) Now I'm stuck in the nether thousands of blocks from any portal. It is very weird because I linked up some portals last night and they worked fine.
