This is a weird one...
To reproduce, spawn a shulker and also place a shulker box. Wait for the shulker to peek out, and notice that the box magically does as well, even the item in your hand!

Hello! This looks to be a duplicate of MC-203562.

And when the shulker dies while fully open, all the models stay fully open.
Also, they always follow the most recent spawned shulker or in case of natually spawned ones the nearest (or possibly first rendered if multiple)
it also happens with all colours and in the creative inventory they are stuck between open and closed
Can confirm it is happening to me as well in 20w45a.
It also happens in inventory.
also when the shucker box is placed next to the shucker they will open and close in unison and the shucker box cannot be opened
i found that the shulker boxs copy the farthest northeast shulker (0,0 going tords 65,-65 and hire)
Another (though not useful anymore) fact:
It works even if the shulker box is a dropped item.
