When I punched a piglin by accident, it became hostile so I panicked and logged out and then when I logged in, the piglin was neutral to me even though it was hostile before I logged out. This happens to all aggressive neutral mobs like Wolves, Endermen, Iron golems, Zombie Pigmen, Bees and Piglins.
This problem has been fixed in the java version in 1.16 Pre-release 1 MC-4520.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Mine gold ore/punch them/open a chest in front of Piglins.
- Save and quit the game
- Log back in
Observed Results:
It became neutral.
Expected Results:
Aggressive neutral mobs would continue to be hostile even after l logged.
Covered by MC-4520
Enderman would stop being aggravated towards you if you relog. Only affects Enderman and not any other neutral mobs.

This is a return of MC-4520, but only for Enderman.
Why would you expect them to forget they're angry at you? They're not hostile mobs that just attack anything, they remember who provoked them for a certain duration.
The UUID of the provoking player is stored, and only cleared when their timer runs out. Even disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't save you,and that was a deliberate bug fix: MC-4520. Why should they forget you upon leaving the dimension if they are supposed to remember you when leaving the world?
This is 1000% by design.
Confirmed.
Pigmen seem to be an exception, as sometimes they are still hostile.
Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w05b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Confirmed to still be an issue in snapshot version 14w07a. I've replicated this in SMP as well as SSP with Zombie Pigmen.
Confirmed for Endermen and Wolves in 14w32d. Pigmen remain hostile.
Still occurs in 1.8-pre3.
I think that Wolves and Endermen storing the UUID of the player they are angry at would fix this.
Still a problem with wolves in 16w02a
Wolves still suffer from this in 16w03a
Still present in 16w04a
Still in 16w05a
Still in 16w05b
Still in 16w06a
Still in 16w07a
Still present in 1.9-pre1
Still in 1-9-pre2
still in 1.9-pre3
Still in 1.9-pre4, but is it even worth reporting since it's unfixed from MC 1.4? I won't bother from now on if they just ignore it.
Tested with single pigman. Result: Only becomes peaceful again if it was a certain distance away when relogging.
Confirmed for 16w42a, but only for Enderman and Wolf. Pigmen remain aggravated upon reloading.
I suggest removing "Pigmen" from the description and only leaving the other two.
Pigmen are still affected. I think you have to be in a different chunk than they are when you quit and re-enter the world.
Confirmed in 18w30b
This is a really easy fix: simply serialise the attack target memory.
Confirmed for 20w20a.
It's been 8 years. 8 YEARS, and finally fixed.
This bug returned. It affects enderman.
Then please create a new report with proper reproduction steps and comment its ID here so that it can be marked as related. And of course search first if it has been reported already for recent versions.
I can reproduce this in 1.16.4rc1
For all the same mobs?
