Launcher output log area is much smaller than it was previously
The bug
The launcher's output log window displays the output in a much smaller are than it did previously. In older versions, the output filled the entire output log window, as shown in this screenshot taken in 2.2.2310:
However, in 2.2.2530, the output only fills the top portion of the output log window:

- Start Minecraft using 2.2.2530 (haven't tested on other operating systems)
- View output log

The bug
The first three columns of the launcher log are displayed darker than they were previously. In older versions, the text in all four columns was white. Now, the first three columns are black:
How to reproduce
- Start Minecraft using 2.2.2530 (haven't tested in other beta versions)
- View the output log, and expand your window if necessary
The text in the first three columns is black

Hello, thanks for your report! We're already tracking this issue as MCL-17432. This has been fixed for the newest beta version. The beta can be enabled by selecting the Settings tab, checking the first box, and restarting your Minecraft Launcher.

Hello! Thanks for the report, however this is already being tracked as MCL-17432. This issue is actually fixed for the current beta version.
To enable the beta, select the Settings tab (in the bottom left corner of the Minecraft Launcher), and then check the first box. Close and reopen your launcher, and the issue should be fixed!

This is already being tracked as MCL-17432 and MCL-17433. They are fixed in the current beta version! To enable the beta version of the launcher, select the Settings button in the bottom left corner of the launcher, and check the first box. Then, restart your launcher, and your log should be fixed! Alternatively, if you don't want to enable the beta version, you can wait for the main release.

[Mod] Greymagic27 Hello, just to be sure: MCL-17432 is an older ticket for launcher versions 2.2.2529 (Windows), 2.2.2530 (Mac), 2.2.2528 (Linux), however the fix was for 2.2.27xx which was in Beta (see violine's comment), but the issue we have is with a newer launcher version, namely 2.2.3106 (Windows), so this bugpost here is a clone/re-occurrence, but not a dupe..?
I've just double checked and I can reproduce this on 2.2.3106 but not on the beta version of the launcher so it looks lime MCL-17432 still applies even though the fix versions are possibly the wrong versions.
Can you see if this is the same for you?

The launcher update was, as always, automatical, the release version, and the generic user doesn't download Beta-versions of the launcher.
The reported bugged launcher version of MCL-17432 was an older version, and the mentioned launcher fix version was also an older version than the one we report here.
If you really want me to, of course I can download the Beta version of the current launcher to test, but even if it would work there, this doesn't make this bugpost here a Duplicate (in my personal opinion, you mods may have other rules).
I just thought it would be important to have this bug registered as re-occurring, as, going by what violine wrote, this must be the case here.
Will report back after downloading the Beta-launcher.

Confirm also an issue on macOS Launcher "Version 973 (1)"; there's an enormous swath of wasted space. Resizing the windows doesn't help.
For what it's worth: my launcher randomly decided to update itself in the middle of the day today. Apparently it updated to the latest beta version (see below), despite me never being on the beta version of the launcher before. I double-checked in settings and as expected the beta option ("Use the beta version of the Launcher") remains untouched and still disabled, as I left it.

Can confirm, currently the issue only exists in the beta.
This issue seems to have been fixed in 2.2.27xx
It was working correctly yesterday, and today the launcher showed it was updating and now it's showing as pictured. I'm running MacOS 11.2.3 (Big Sur)

Can confirm that this is fixed in 2.2.27xx. That version is currently beta-only though.
Update: This fix is still in beta only, release is still affected. Note that you can't tell what's a beta and what's not based on the version number alone.
