Blocks momentarily become invisible when moved by pistons
When I switching the piston or sticky piston on and off with any block on them, blocks are blinking (visible-invisible-visible).

This bug should be corrected as soon as possible.
If that's so, I think that means they only have improved the performance.
Maybe.
Hope they fix the bug completely this time.

THIS BUG IS STILL OCCURING IN MCPE 1.0.4 BETA. HOPE THIS BUG GETS FIXED ASAP
This bug present in MCPE 1.1 Beta Build 4
MCPE 1.0.5.3 affected by this bug. Many have reported this numerous times but doesn't seem to be fixed. Please fix this bug as even on the final released version has this bug. Thanks
Hope to get a reply as well so that I know that you guys have acknowledged it. Thank you.
This bug has still HASNT been fixed in MCPE 1.1 Beta 1! Please try to fix this bug ASAP. This bug hasn't been fixed for more than 2 major releases.
Simple in the sense that when comparing this bug to other major bugs, it's simple. I know that fixing bugs takes a huge amount of time as I am a programmer myself. But many are reporting this bug since MCPE 0.15.0 which is a Long time and still the bug has NOT been fixed.
Still present in MCPE Beta 1.0.6. Why hasn't this bug been not fixed for so Long! What is the point of beta when simple bugs are NOT fixed! Please fix this annoying bug in the next beta. Thank you
Waited for so Long for confirmation but I Guess I’ll have to wait even longer...
Thanks for you reply and information. If you don’t consider this as a bug, what do you consider this as? And yes, in recent versions of java edition, I have seen this bug BUT this bug did not exist in previous editions of Java edition. In my opinion, this poses some issues especially in the looks of the various peoples’ builds such as doors and subway stations. Of course, this bug doesn’t pose any serious threat that you will not be able to play the game but I do find it to make my builds really bad in my opinion.
Even in the 1.4 Update for MCPE, this bug still hasn’t been fixed. Waited for almost 1.5 years right now for this bug to be fixed but yeah...
Lol, this bug became even worse in Final version of MCPE 1.1. The animation of pushing and retracting of pistons is always laggy and of course the block that is pushed and retracted flickers as well.

This is more than just a graphical glitch. That blinking block actually loses its solidness for a short time when the block is being pushed upwards. See
MCPE-14882.so what do you mean? is it still a bug?
Yes. Still a bug. I will check this on 0.15.2 later.
Still affects 0.15.2.
still affects 0.15.3. infact i think its worse than 0.15.2 and it doesn't look like a block for a short amount of time for me
Confirmed for 0.15.6. (Tested on Windows 10.)
It is resolved as of 0.16.0 beta 1. Thank You!!
Reopening, this affects 0.17.0.2 on Samsung TabPro SM-T520 on Android 4.4.2
on Windows 10 and android too. there are many bugs about pistons in this version :/
Can confirm for 1.0.0
Confirmed in 1.0.4.1 please fixed this ASAP because this may effect some lag and crash to the game.
Affects 1.0.4.11.
The only blocks that haven't 'blinked' from what I've noticed, are Chests/Trapped Chests.
Please do not mark unreleased versions as affected.
You don't have access to them yet.
it became worse as of 1.0.5.13. I placed every different direction of pistons and the east and west position doubles the blocks that pushes it.
Revised title to be more descriptive.
[~UniqueCrafter], just because something looks simple, doesn't mean it is easy to fix.
https://bugs.mojang.com/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=UniqueCrafter Lol, keep calm. https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-12347 this one is way more critical and it exists since the whole MCPE history. (and got worse after 1.2)

I'm still seeing this bug even now after the 1.2 update.. Hope it gets fixed eventually, it makes piston doors and other piston-moving contraptions look sloppy, graphically/immersion wise.
Edit: On PC as well.
I wouldn't really consider this a bug. There is just a delay when moving blocks, the game has to unload a block then load it in another location. If you ask me this poses no issue nor problems whatsoever. Even java has this split-second delay.
A bug actually is a feature not wanted by developers. So I think it could completely be considered as bug.
Sorry, I misunderstood. You meant that they dont appear for a while, right? I thought it was the short flash of the block when they are moved. My bad.
Was this bug fixed in the 1.5 or 1.6 beta?
Edit: It's really unsatisfing to watch piston machines work with this bug, not like in Java
Seems to be partially fixed in the beta. Only happens when too many of them move.
Jeffrey, I've tested the latest beta (1.6.0.5) myself, and I do agree with you.
The blocks no longer momentarily become invisible when being moved by a piston/sticky piston, but it comes with a new kinda problem.
Here's the full details:
First thing I'm using Android phone to test the beta.
There's almost no problem when using one piston/sticky to move one block, but when it comes into larger scales like 2*2 piston door, you can barely see the blocks moving, just disappearing and appearing from point (A) to point (B).
It becomes even worse when you cover the piston door and the hole redstone with it.
Probably it's something to do with the performance, and it renders better with higher-end devices.
Whatever the way the devs used to fix the bug it's definitely better.
Thank you.
Seems to depend on the device. I tested this on W10 and PE. In W10 it was fine even with about 6 pistons moving at the same time but in PE it was like how you described it, it would not render the blocks properly.
It reminds me of the 0.16 release when this bug was fixed the same way, but slightly better, then it came back in the 1.0-second beta release.
The interesting thing is the fix wasn't written in the changelog site.
Edit: Maybe they didn't really mean to fix it at that time, maybe it was accidentally fixed by changing other mechanics, and it came back for the same reason. I don't really know.
I think that is because they made pistons faster after 0.16.0 which made it harder for devices to render the piston extension and retraction along with blocks.
No, I don't think so, the pistons became faster after 1.2.6
No, they are noticably faster in 1.2.6 but they did slightly increase after 16.0. But its not that different though.Never mind, I must've forgotten. It was 1.2.6
Still affects 1.11.4
The block movement renders slightly better in the 1.16 beta.
