Silent just mentioned it might be related to MCPE-13451
Noticed this a month ago, created account to report this.
When boxed between two walls or two more vertical trapdoors, vertical trapdoors stop mobs from jumping or moving (or confuses phantoms-needs two trapdoors wide instead).
Problems that arise from this:
-hostile mobs (zombie and wolf and) will not chase target (wolves are even unable to attack)
-mobs cannot flee: skeleton and creeper from wolf and ocelot
-snow golem will aim for mobs, but snow ball will shoot perfectly along an x or z axis(basically following the row of trapdoors)
skeletons and pillagers can still shoot, however.
will check how it affects endermen, horses and spiders out of curiosity
May be connected to MCPE-45560 and MCPE-13451
Maybe this is connected to the Trapdoor hitbox bug
The hitbox is off so it causes a slight displacement in the texture maybe???
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is a Duplicate of MCPE-13451.

Mob spawner have a collision that is a bit smaller than it should be. This bug also exists for trapdoors. MCPE-13451 For trapdoors it has been fixed in a beta, but mob spawners haven't been mentioned so mob spawners might still be affected in the beta.
How to reproduce:
- Place a full block like for example stone.
- Place a mob spawner above it.
- Try to jump on top of the stone.
Expected result: You can't stand on top of the stone.
Actual result: You can stand on top of them.
Like it does with trapdoors it also works horizontally and not just vertically. You can for example place a mob spawner next to a full block like stone and when you look at the coordinates at the top left and you'll see that you are lower when standing on top of the spawner. And if you are below the mob spawner and fly against it you can walk against the block next to it.
Here the bug for trapdoors MCPE-13451
In the video the armor stand is on top of a trapdoor which has an a little bit smaller collision box.
That could be the reason why the armor stand created frosted ice.
Edit: I looked closely and saw that the armor stand already generated frosted ice before it was standing on the ice, so I think that it doesn’t have to do anything with this issue.
This might be fixed by the fix for MCPE-13451 in 1.15.0.51 beta.
This issue was fixed for trapdoors indirectly by the fix to MCPE-13451. We are now tracking falling through chests and other blocks on relog at MCPE-84023.

This is because the bounding box of trapdoor is inset 0.0005 (half a millimetre) of a block in the horizontal axes.
Confirmed to affect 1.1.0.0. Affects both wooden & iron trapdoors.
This is still occurring in the latest builds. 1.2.13.8
Affects 1.2.15
Affects 1.2.16
Affects 1.4
Affects 1.6.0
Still affects 1.12
Please fix this soon
It is the same with mobspawners
Affects 1.13
Still affects 1.13.1
as a feedback comment, from my opinion this is a useful feature in some cases and as it has been here for a lot of time is considered a feature by me
It does not only work vertically. It also works horizontally. You can place a trapdoor or mob spawner between normal full blocks like for example stone and you'll see that you are lower than standing on top of a normal block like stone. And if a trapdoor or mob spawner is in a ceiling and you fly in creative mode against the ceiling you can fly against a block like stone next to the spawner or trapdoor.

Here is the bug report for mob spawners.
MCPE-66828I'm still experiencing this problem, i have villagers in a 1x1x2 space. They are standing on halfslabs, the halfslab is surrounded by glass blocks, on top of the first row of glass i have a nother row,, except in one side were i have a trapdoor, the villagers can walk from the halfslab onto the glass block that has the trapdoor on top.
They shouldn't be able to do this, then they can jump from the glass block to the trapdoor on top and escape the holding area.
