At this time there is no resolution date for the code generation system. However you may contact support to request a code. Indicate you're trying to get your free code from the Mojang account page for the Windows 10 edition.

I contacted that support email about a month ago (Support request 92921) and have been ignored. Can you please stop telling us to email them when we just get ignored. Is there any approximate timeframe for the code generation? (is it going to take closer to 6 months or a week?).

At this time I have no estimates for you on either part as I am not a member of either team. However I have been assured that your support ticket will be addressed (it has not been lost) and that people are aware of this issue (hence why support will know to give you a code). I’m sorry that this isn’t working right now and I’ll continue keeping an eye on this ticket if things don’t move forward do let me know. Understand that with the holidays coming up it may be slow.

Yeah, I was starting to wonder about this myself. We gave our kids minecraft for the Nintendo Switch and I'd love to play with them from my PC, but I don't want to buy another minecraft game when I have two java accounts and a Nintendo account. Is there something we can do to help? Apparently, this doesn't seem like a big enough problem to warrant it being fixed promptly. Should everyone that is experiencing it just submit a support ticket every day? Honestly asking what people like me should do. Thanks for your time.

Please note that this is a bug tracker and not a support desk. Unfortunately, we currently do not have any information on this matter besides what the linked help article says.
No, it's not. The number of affected users is indicated by the "Votes" metric. We generally remove all comments that don't add anything new to the ticket. "I'm affected by this as well" is not a useful comment for us or anyone at Mojang.
Please be patient. Mojang is currently working on solving this issue, as they have indicated in their help article. Messaging them won't speed up that process.
Thanks for your response, Violine1101. I understand that things like this can take time. When you say, "currently working" are you saying that as an update? They weren't working on it before, but I'm responding here because they have started? If not and there is no predicted fix date where would be the best place for us to seek help on an individual basis? I'm sure that people can be given their free claim codes manually.
Notch's promise was that we would receive "all future versions of the game...". Is this issue really years old like a previous comment said? I feel that if I want to play with my kids I'm just gonna have to spend another $30 and then when you give me my free claim code (if ever?) I'm going to feel really frustrated and have a hard time trusting the company in the future.
Please consider this from the perspective of people like me. At least find out when it is expected to be fixed. It's likely one phone call or one email to the right person. Thanks again for your time and hopefully consideration.
Edit: My friend just pointed out that this is the third most voted for issue in this bug tracker as well as this [microsoft link |https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/out-of-windows-10-minecraft-redeem-codes/05a3d647-5cd3-4f50-b701-04b50df86c2e] where there are currently over 400 replies, almost 3,000 "I have the same question", and 47,255 views and it was from November 15th of last year! I am not trying to be rude. I think maybe Mojang wasn't aware of how pervasive this issue is and if they knew they wouldn't mind giving us an update from a dev on the issue.

When I hit this bug, I submitted a ticket requesting a code on Nov 23, 2019, and got a reply with a working code on Dec 24, 2019. So, their support is answering, but there was a roughly 1 month response time. In the Minecraft Discord, they were warning it could be 30-60 days, so that response was on the fast end of the estimated time.
TL:DR: Sign up and hit the vote button on the issue up top if you actually want this fixed with any degree of urgency.
I think the information that these issues are tracked using votes is useful.
I myself did not have an account on here - too lazy - my Mojang acct didn't log me in and I didn't see the point. I just read it, and came back every couple of days to check for updates.
I suspect that most people are doing the same so the vote count VASTLY under-represents the scale of the problem. Reddit, Microsoft etc are full of people with this issue who are incredibly unhappy about it. It has been going on since at least 15th November now - 2 full calendar months - it needs to be resolved.
I note the the status of this ticket is still only "Open", and has not yet moved to "In Progress" =/
Update: My friend found a post in the microsoft answers community. On that page someone links to a chat that I used to get microsoft to mark it as owned on my microsoft account. They wanted my mojang email and my microsoft email to be the same, made sure I had an xbox gamer tag, and then wanted a screenshot of the error on the mojang site. It took about 15 minutes. I hope this helps you all play Minecraft!

No available gift codes again..... How can it be possible to run out of these, and why does it take so long to get resolved?

Issue is stated as resolved but I'm still getting the error. I've been seeing reports about this since 2018 and with 5 days left in the program I'm worried i won't get the code. I took a screen shot to show that I attempted to get the code before the deadline. Can anyone tell me if this will at least help?
