On java edition in the nether update it was made that the camera in 3rd person view can pass through glass, glass panes and iron bars. MC-175866 This change hasn’t been made to bedrock.
How to reproduce:
- Build a wall made out of glass
- Get very close to it
- Look at it
- Press F5 twice
The camera will be very close to you because of the glass.
Expected behavior: The camera will be behind the wall out of glass.

The bug
Even though beacons look almost like glass and you can see through them, the camera cannot pass through it in third person. Relates to MC-175866, MC-175927, MC-177512, MC-181095 and MC-189617.
How to reproduce:
- Place a beacon in front of you of you and look at the beacon
- Go into 3rd person
- Move away from the beacon
The beacon causes the camera to get closer to your body, even though can look through the glass.

Hello Carson, thanks for the report! We're tracking this as MC-175866. This was not considered a bug by the developers; therefore, it is working as intended and won't be fixed.

It's a transparent block though, and the 20w12a changes were made so that any visually transparent block would allow the camera to pass through whereas visually opaque blocks like soul sand would not as to fix an x-ray glitch, so I at least really hope this is intentional.
Ah sorry about that, thanks
Relates to
MCPE-85429, because this hasn’t been added to bedrock.Sorry for necroposting, but if it's WAI because that's how all visually transparent blocks should behave, shouldn't it also affect barrier then? Because it currently does not.
