Decorations can replace parts of mineshafts
The Bug:
Decorations can replace parts of mineshafts.
Just for clarification reasons, decoration blocks are blocks such as grass, moss carpet, azalea, dripleaf, cave vines, pointed dripstone etc...
Here is an example:
Seed: -6901966002481662265 Coordinates: /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s 231 -1 35 -320 37
Steps to Reproduce:
- Generate a world with the seed provided above and teleport to the given coordinates.
- Look closely at the generation of the mineshaft and how nearby decorations intersect it.
- Take note as to whether or not decorations can replace parts of mineshafts.
Observed Behavior:
Decorations can replace parts of mineshafts.
Expected Behavior:
Decorations would not be able to replace parts of mineshafts.

My apologies; I mistakenly marked 1.19.3 as affected. It turns out that the case of where I "experienced" this issue in 1.19.3 was because the mineshaft generation stopped abruptly and didn't actually get replaced by decorations; it just appeared as if it did, and further investigating concludes that it didn't.
With this being said, I can confirm that this issue was present in 22w03a, but no longer occurs in versions above or equal to 22w05a, very likely due to the fix of
MC-216004. In other words, this issue has been fixed in 22w05a.[^MC-221311 - Behavior in 22w03a.png]

The mineshaft issue is currently being tracked on MC-221311, but it seems like mineshafts are not the only place with this issue, I saw a bug where glow berries generate 1 block too high and penetrated the roof of a cave

MC-216589I found an example:
Just clarifying, this is not those things replacing the pillars, it's the mineshaft's logs that are placed after other generation not replacing them. (supporting blocks from structures are generally done last in generation)
Can confirm in 21w39a.
Can confirm in 21w40a.
Can confirm in 21w42a
1.18 pre release 1 and 2 both contain this bug
Apparently Cave Vines getting CUT OFF by a Mineshaft below is still the same bug, so I'll add screenshots of that.
Seed in those 3 pictures is -347828615443259447
Can confirm in 23w03a
Seed: 8587948038190963789

I cannot reproduce this in 1.20.4
Spend 30 minutes flying in a lush cave world on seed 107038380838084 and didn't find a single instance
I was able to reproduce this in 1.20.4.
World type: Single biome (lush caves)
Seed: -9028795212135345755
Coordinates: 1294 28 -323
Due to MC-219200, however, I haven't been able to reproduce this a second time, even at the same location.
