Created Issue:
Villagers can equip armor
When you put armor in a dispenser and activate it with the villagers in front of them, they equip it.
Villagers can equip armor, but armor is invisible
Can't any mobs wear armor, even squids, but it is invisible?
Tested it with a Pig:/summon Pig ~ ~1 ~ {Equipment:[{},{id:diamond_helmet},{id:diamond_chestplate},{id:diamond_leggings},{id:diamond_boots}]}Pigs died after 51 hits with hand;
Normal Pig: 10 hits with handSo you see even Pigs can wear armor
Guys I recovered that when the villager is killed by a zombie he even drops the armor, so maybe it will be part of 1.8 or it's just a bug

Villagers can do that since 1.7 - please get your facts right.
Anyway duplicate of MC-55516.
Ok bug closed as invalid but why is it linked to MC-55516?
This bug was in regard to head and held items not rendering, even on normal villagers custom head and held items render. This was not in reference to armor not rendering, I know normal armor slots are not on villagers.
MC-55516 ?
Thank you for your report!

Confirmed.
also possible wtith
/summon Villager ~ ~1 ~ {Equipment:[{},{id:diamond_helmet},{id:diamond_chestplate},{id:diamond_leggings},{id:diamond_boots}]}Kumasasa, just a quick thing about your command, its:
hand
feet
lags
chest
head
however since it's considered diamond armor it'll render like it's fine (when on a zombie/skeleton/pigman)
if you romeve the helmet, then the boots disappear, because they take that slot
just fixing your command a bit so it's in the right order"
/summon Villager ~ ~1 ~ {Equipment:[{},{id:diamond_boots},{id:diamond_leggings},{id:diamond_chestplate},{id:diamond_helmet}]}it's not to be mean or something, I'm just helping for in the future
wiki:
Equipment: The list of compound tags of the equipment the mob has. Each compound tag in the list is an Item without the slot tag. All 5 entries will always exist (even for players) but may be empty compound tags to indicate no item.
0: The item being held in the mob's hand.
1: Armor (Feet)
2: Armor (Legs)
3: Armor (Chest)
4: Armor (Head)
Thanks for fixing.
(Used numerical IDs in the game to confirm but changed to Item names here in the ticket)
you're welcome
(I think it won't be supported in the future anymore)
Happens with all mobs that have the CanPickUpLoot tag true, but only undead mobs actually render it. This probably isn't a feature unless they decide to make a special skin for villagers wearing armor.
Paul, yes but as seen in the video this villager is spawnerd with a spawn egg and not a command
I know, I'm saying since all villagers have CanPickUpLoot set true, all of them pick up armor. They can only pick up crops and seeds, no other items, but they still need special armor handling. Hopefully since Jeb is working full force on the PC game again, some of these mob AI quirks will be fixed...
