Code analysis
Based on 1.11.2 decompiled using MCP 9.35 rc1
Either the method net.minecraft.entity.EntityLiving.setAttackTarget(EntityLivingBase) should not set players in Creative or Spectator mode as target or the method net.minecraft.entity.monster.EntityZombie.attackEntityFrom(DamageSource, float) should test if the player is in Creative mode.

- Summon a zombie using the following command
/summon minecraft:zombie ~ ~ ~ {Attributes:[{Base:1.0,Name:"zombie.spawn_reinforcements"}]}
- Hit the zombie a few times
- Search for the spawned reinforcement zombies, if there are no other zombies you can use the following command

I believe this is fixed in 1.8 since Skeletons don't attack in Creative (MC-64087 still exists however).
In 1.8 if a creeper begins to explode, switching to Spectator/Creative won't stop the explosion unless you move out of its range. Revengeful zombies are also affected (see MC-64087).
Regression of MC-64087 (has been occurring for quite a while).

Normally, if you kill zombified piglins in one hit they won't get mad at you because they can't call on the others nearby. However, if the zombified piglin who was killed in one hit spawns a reinforcement as it dies, it will be angry at you and anger all the other piglins nearby. This is counterintuitive and makes killing them in 1 hit pointless if it can just anger them anyway, even if indirectly. Note that this behaviour happens even in creative mode (MC-64087).
This was not the case before 1.21.2 because zombified piglins could not spawn reinforcement zombified piglins.
Steps to repproduce:
- Set your difficulty to hard
- Kill zombified piglins in one hit with a Smite V netherite axe.
- A reinforcement spawns and gets angry at you. Depending on the local difficulty this can happen either instantly or in dozens of zombified piglins.
- All the other piglins also get angry at you.
Observed results
When a zombified piglin reinforcement is spawned, it angers all zombified piglins nearby on you, even if you killed the caller in one hit.
Expected results
Zombified piglins wouldn't get angry at you for killing them in one hit per MC-2432 being resolved as Intended.

Cannot reproduce.
Fine. I'll record.
Done.
Fixed on 14w32d.
Regressed in 1.8 release. To reproduce (I think):
Spawn zombies behind you (20-30 blocks away)
Spawn zombies in front of you, go into survival and quickly punch them, and go back into Creative.
Hitting the zombie/other zombies or going into Spectator does not fix the issue, but logging out/back in does.
Regression also occurs in 1.8.1.
Confirmed in 15w32b. Simply attacking zombies in Creative (I used bow and arrows from a distance, but I think any attack should work) will cause hostile zombies to spawn.
Confirmed for 15w35d and 15w35e (
MC-87583).Confirmed for 15w38b. They REALLY need to fix this...
Yeah, pretty minor bug (it's creative mode
. No big deal. They can't kill you)... but really random... confirmed for 15w50a.
Confirmed for 17w17b.
Confirmed for 1.12.2 and 18w07c.
Unable to reproduce for 1.13.1.
Affects 20w45a
This seems to be caused by MC-146524.
Only marked it as related because that report requires switching gamemodes which is not necessary here.
Can confirm in 21w07a.
I've attached an updated video which demonstrates this issue.
