The Bug:
The "minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit" sound event doesn't play when non-player entities are damaged by the thorns enchantment.
It's important to note that this sound plays if you attack entities wearing armor enchanted with thorns, or if you attack guardians.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Give yourself a chestplate enchanted with a high level of thorns by using the command provided below.
/give @s minecraft:diamond_chestplate[minecraft:enchantments={levels:{"minecraft:thorns":10}}] - Equip the chestplate and summon a husk.
- Switch to survival mode, allow the husk to attack you, and listen closely.
Observed Behavior:
The "minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit" sound event doesn't play.
Expected Behavior:
The "minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit" sound event would play.

I don't think this ticket duplicates MC-97244 as that ticket is about other mobs not making the "Thorns prick" sound when other mobs take damage and the player can't hear it but this ticket is about the player themselves taking thorns damage but and can't hear the thorns damage.

The minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit sound does not play when mobs or players are killed by the Thorns enchantment. Relates to MC-97244. The same applies to Guardian spikes.
How to reproduce
- Equip armor enchanted with Thorns
- Keep getting attacked by a mob repeatedly until it dies
Expected result
The minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit sound would play when the mob dies.
Observed result
The minecraft:enchant.thorns.hit sound does not play.
