MC-165196Dispensers cannot retrieve water from filled cauldrons
As of recent snapshots functionality was added to dispensers that allows them to fill contained bottles with water when facing water. They can also fill bottles with honey if facing a bee nest or hive which contains enough. However, they cannot fill up bottles from water-filled cauldrons, whereas players can, which is a definite issue in consistency, as players can do this.
The same thing happens when trying to fill an empty cauldron with a dispenser using water bottles, and all parts of this ticket also apply to buckets; they can't pick up water from full cauldrons nor can they fill them via dispensers.

There are currently some right-click actions with shears on mobs that dispensers containing them cannot do, namely the following:
- Removing pumpkins from snow golems
- Shearing red and brown mooshrooms
Dispensers also cannot shear placed pumpkins, however this is covered in a separate issue which has been marked as WAI (although not by Mojang, so it may be worth looking over); see MC-148448.

Can confirm in 1.15-pre7
Confirmed in 1.15.1 for full cauldrons and empty buckets in dispensers. Didn't test other configurations.
Confirmed in 1.15.2 that dispensers cannot empty water bottles into cauldrons. the water bottle just disappears and the cauldron water level does not increase.
In 20w48a, the bucket part can be updated to include lava and powder snow as well. This fix would be useful for the automation of lava dripstone farms and powder snow farms.
This is a feature request.
It's crazy that the community has came out with a solution for years, yet it is still not yet implemented in vanilla. It's crazier that this issue is marked as resolved when it is clearly not done
