this is a Duplicate of MC-18368 and your like the 101st person to post it. But this is an intended feature in the PC version. No Sword should be able to break blocks in creative (allows you to kill any mobs without risking breaking your work).

Also, this is an intentional change in one of the recent snapshots. I don't understand how can it be annoying that a sword does not break blocks in creative mode, especially considering that you accidentally hit a block. In my opinion, the old behavior was more annoying.
I don't think there is a vanilla way to break blocks faster than creative, there is only WorldEdit's super pickaxe that I know of.

I cannot confirm. I tested with 14w08a and was unable to break blocks with a sword in creative. Double check that you are still in creative mode.
This isn't actually a duplicate of MC-18368. It is the opposite, saying you can break blocks with a sword, when the resolution to MC-18368 says intended behavior is you should not be able to break blocks with a sword in creative mode.

Exactly I am fine with this bug, it should not be removed. This could be a huge feature that would make much people mad, if it would be removed again! It's confirmed but I don't call this a bug... I call this... the hidden feature in 13w25c.
