Beacon Beam disappears when moving 70 blocks up/down away from it.
Reproduction:
-Be sure the beacon shoots a beam.
-Keep note of the "Y" position of the beacon block.
-Travel to roughly 70 blocks vertical from the beacon block.
Result: If you move 1 more block vertically, the beam will disappear.
e.g.: If a beacon were placed at Y=67, if you go upwards by 70 blocks (at Y=137), the beam will disappear.
Very similar to MCPE-17595.

This bug is somehow simultaneously reported as MCPE-25228 & MCPE-17595. If 70 blocks is the entity render limit, perhaps a bug report should be opened stating that beacon beams should not be considered entities in terms of how they're rendered.
The issue with the beam disappearing when more than 70 blocks above it is tracked as MCPE-25228.
This report is not a duplicate of MCPE-25228. In that report, it is said about the disappearance of the beacon beam when the player is above 70 blocks (by y), and in my report about the height of the beacon! That is, if you correct my mistake, the beacon beam will disappear when the player moves to 1023 height.
The existing report MCPE-25228 does say that the beam will disappear when the player is more than 70 blocks above the beacon. If you think you have additional information please just add it to that report.

It's not just beacon beams, and not just vertical distance. Every entity (as far as I can tell), including mobs, stops rendering outside a sphere of about r=70 around the player. And it's a sphere, so I think this is actually a duplicate of 17595.
still affects 1.14.30
I have found the exact same issue today. It is a worry that this is still a problem after nearly 3 years since this post was made.
Confirmed for 1.14.60
Just like Auldrick stated, It affects all entities. It also includes particles such as smoke particles from campfires.
Affects 1.17.40.20
I have had same issue, about 68 blocks above the beacon the beacon lights disappear. The beacons in attached video clip has beacons set al level -13 with stained blue glass at level -12. In my rapid descent it seems the beacons become visible at level 55 which would be 68 blocks. This is in extreme hills so level 55 is beneath the surface. The same has been for back at my base. The beacon is set at level 50 from before update but my headquarters are at level 200 and the beacon lights always disappear as I climb up to my headquarters. I still get my boosts but I can't see the beacon lights. Minecraft_20211207130951.mp4
Affects 1.18.2. With the new generation I'm moving beacons down to Y=-15 or so to make sure the effect reach all the way down to bedrock, and all the beams are invisible at the surface even when right on top of them
I get why you might want to stop most entities rendering, but there should be an exception for beacons as they should be usable as a reference point to find your base while exploring and it’s super odd that you could have the effects of the beacon and be right on top of it and still not be able to see it! Especially given the increased world height, it’s very odd that you could build a beacon inside a mountain but never be able to see the light coming out of the mountain or build it on top of the mountain and be able to see the structure but not the beam.
When I first began using beacons (in Creative), I thought they were there to help me find my way back somewhere. But they disappear! A "beacon" by definition is a wayfinder; it is not regularly understood as an effect generator. Mojang, please make an exception for this one item that is the very best built-in item to be a wayfinder to de-render only at a very far distance. Thank you.
Just discovered this issue today on my realm, with a double beacon at Y=-50, that stops rendering above Y=20.
this is still an issue, coming into 6 YEARS after being reported, please fix this, not being able to see the beacon while standing almost on top of it, defeats half the point of using them
It has been Fixed Beacon 70 height blocks. Soo i need to be Fixed see MCPE-17595
