When I go into Minecraft, it opens up and works like normal for around 2 seconds, then it stops working, I cant click on anything on the menu, "Singleplayer", "Multiplayer", etc. And if I happen to make it into a world/server somehow, I cant click interact with anything. This isn't a crash, as Minecraft will still work. The food bar will degrade, chat will show up and continue to work. Yet I can't interact with anything.

- Try a malware scan:
- ADWCleaner is an utility to clean a PC which is infested with malware. Download it here: https://toolslib.net/downloads/finish/1/

- If that doesnt fix it, use the old launcher:

New launcher will not get my Minecraft to get passed MOJANG logo after pressing PLAY. Shows me that Minecraft is Not Responding, and close it out showing an error of Java Platform SE Binary is not responding. Reinstalled newest version of Java, uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft, upgraded my laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 10 and I still cannot get passed the MOJANG logo still. I have no idea what else to do to resolve this issue other than going out and wasting a ton of money on a new laptop. In conclusion, new launcher has caused me to no longer play Minecraft on my laptop, as the old version worked perfectly fine before the 2.0.806 launcher update.

After clicking Play, the Mojang screen appears but won't go on. It says Not Responding.
I have to force to quit by the red cross,
Then it says: Java(TM) Platform SE binary is not responding.
I choose: Quit the programm, than the launcher comes back and sais: Gamecrash.
My son is very sad that it won't work at his computer. With the same account at another computer it works fine.

Alternatively, try the following:
- Try fix in
MC-74465(Removing _JAVA_OPTIONS that is set by some tuner programs and keyboards) and the one inMCL-6022.
- If you use Discord, disable its overlay feature, or close Discord entirely, see also

I CAN interact with things, menu items, entities, blocks, sounds play, etc.
The difference between my problem and theirs is they can SEE things changing, "The food bar will degrade, chat will show up and continue to work.", I cannot see, I CAN interact, it is as though a screenshot was taken and pasted over the window.

I've been having the same problem at the Mojang screen, where at the Mojang screen, and only at the Mojang screen, will it say not responding, and for any version of Minecraft. For me, this problem is specifically for the new launcher, using the old one works fine. Pressing F3 + C does not force a crash, as it is not responding. If it did I would have attached the crash report. This problem only started about two or three days ago. Edit: I noticed in task manager under processes it said Minecraft launcher was still running. When I click it and hit end task, I can progress past the Mojang screen. I'm not sure if this helps.
Please provide a small video with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.
f3 + C for 10 seconds does nothing and there No crash report appears so I thought this was weird and tried to open minecraft with optifine since that works and f3 + C for 10 seconds does nothing, I retryed a few times it didn't work, so I am confused here as you probably might be too I don't know if it is because of optifine or not, also all other f3 + (a key) command work fine in-game. Also, I opened up Minecraft to try and do it but what happen was that my game was working, I was surprised and quite confused so I decided to set it to a window rather than in fullscreen like I normally play and the game instantly froze, now I'm stuck again in this state of frozen game, hopefully, that brings more information. Also if this turns out to be just for me or not a bug related to in-game code (which would make no sense since I tried minutarizing other games on my Alienware laptop and it works fine) then you don't have to worry about me I can just play Minecraft in fullscreen though I would need to find a way to get it to open in fullscreen but I'm pretty sure I can just open an optifine version and set it to fullscreen then close it and open a vanilla version(since vanilla is much better in my opinion) and just play in fullscreen. this is from report
MC-124626I was told to say this here by [Mod] Neko.I noticed there has not been any activity on this issue in a while, as the moderators have deemed it "Resolved". Has the OP managed to get his game working again, and will Mojang address this issue?
Please look closer/further than just the status:
And the last mod comment:
Ah yes, that is most correct. I shall look closer to the activity in the future.
As for the requested debug screen video, it is quite impossible to get at this time. As the game will not respond long enough to get to any of my worlds, let alone a debug screen. Nor can I force the game to crash at this point. I know you didn't request it from me, but since the OP and I seem to have the same issue I figured I might as well try.
Alright, I have a small update. After running minecraft as an administrator it seems to be working just fine.
^
Might want to add this as a temporary workaround (in case it works for other users as well).
@Joshua La Rosa: are you using Discord?
I have a similar glitch. The main menu is totally unresponsive, and I cant click on anything. This glitch still happens when i have discord on. Strangely, when I play with forge, this glitch doesn't occur.
same, for me running as an admin fixes it.
@Junsoo Lee Same, it worked when I ran it as an Admin.
I... I don't even have Discord and this happens. Sometimes the game will respond after a few Windows key presses, but I just lost its functionality and the menu is still unresponsive (but active).
If I close the game, it switches to a background task and must be closed from the task manager (otherwise the launcher will claim that it's already running).
EDIT: Confirmed for 18w16a
Also, change the keybind for Discord aswell.
Very anoying for trying to write relative coordinates in command blocks.
Same happened with me, only it was random based. Thanks for the fix.
A friend of mine had an issue with discord, it seems to be the overlay that caused the bug. Are the people that are still seeing this issue without discord running through steam or using any other program that may interfere/interact with the Minecraft client?
ive had this issue with not only discord but chrome and other apps that use the chrome engine such as blockbench(https://blockbench.net/) and vscode(https://code.visualstudio.com/). I suspect that it may also happen for any application that uses the electron(https://electronjs.org/) engine.
Minecraft itself doesn't use chromium, though the new launcher does (albeit not by electron). But that is still useful information.
I've tried closing discord but now that seems to have broken discord and now that app won't launch. Something is clearly wrong
I FOUND A SOLUTION!
Go into discord and turn off "enable in-game overlay" in the overlay tab of the user settings. Then go to the Games tab of the user settings, turn off "Display currently running game as a status message" and also turn off the overlay for Minecraft
The error will still occur but it won't crash/freeze the game and you can play!
Discord does seem to be aware of the issue, as to some of their answers on their Twitter.
what if you don't have discord?
Is this still an issue in 21w16a or later?
