This same error happens when using overworld generation, in that case it can even generate with water.
Same with End biome, with Overworld / The End generation
New title and description: Dimension Biomes generate stone in the Buffet World Type
The bug
The End biomes and Nether biomes don't use their special stones (Netherrack, End Stone), and instead use normal stone.
This destroys some types of "Sky Dimension" maps.
How to reproduce
Also select overworld and type void. You just get flat stone.
Maybe when you use The Void biome it thinks your'e in superflat?
Uploaded screenshot. the flatness is only a few chunks.
tested and no ores are spawning either, neither overworld ores or quartz ore
generator type: overworld
type:the nether
I get stone with pigmen and ghasts, and a netherfortress made of netherbrick
generator type: the end
biome: nether
I end up in the void. Flying up it's an end island made of stone with zombie pigmen and ghasts
Like the indev home, the void biome has its own spawn structure: a flat square of stone with a single cobblestone block that marks the world spawnpoint.
Generator Type: The End
Type: end floating islands
This one has a bit of end stone though.
Same for me. Why didn't the developers pay attention to the code?
What I'm also noticing is that the sky is that of the overworld rather than just a plain solid dark color. This is really looking completely too odd.
in addition to the water generated when we choose the nether or the end!
Can't reproduce in 18w22c
Is this still the case in 18w22c?
Can Confirm for 1.13-pre5. The "soil layer" will generate the correct blocks, but the stone under the "soil layer" is still not correct.
Can confirm for 1.13-pre7
Can confirm for 1.13.1-pre1
Can confirm for 1.13.1
comfirmed for 1.13.2 aswell. the top layer of blocks are still the correct blocks and the blocks under are stone, and only stone. this is the same result as @gaspoeredpick got, where he describes it as soil, he does this a few comments more up
Confirmed for 1.14 and 1.14.1 Pre-Release 2
Seem to be fixed in 19w45b.
It's fixed since 1.14.4.
Definitely not fixed as of 1.15-pre7, this resolution seems to be completely wrong. Should this be reopened or should I just make a separate ticket?
I can affirm that it still occurs
Still affects 20w06a.
List of affected biomes:
nether_wastes
soul_sand_valley
crimson_forest
warped_forest
the_end
end_barrens
end_highlands
small_end_islands

Requesting reopen still affects 1.16.4 pre-release 1
