In pre2 mobs became able to suffocate inside of soul sand again, as well as farmland and grass paths. However, this seems to have been removed again in pre3, likely as a fix for MC-166386 and MC-166389.
The suffocation should be readded again, but checking the mob's head height this time as to prevent erroneous silverfish suffocation. Suffocation could also be added to other solid blocks using this mechanic as per MC-134360.

This bug (MC-166386) has already been addressed in 1.15 Pre-Release 2 and fixed in 1.15 Pre-Release 3, but it's back in 1.16 Pre-Release 5.

This does not apply to other entities besides the player.
I can confirm @Fiopon's issue on the latest snapshot/1.15pre2 build. seems to happen for me where there is a non full block or empty block adjacent. you can 'jump over, but walking pushes you back towards the empty or not full height block.
Can confirm, this only happens when the path block is next to air or non full blocks (water, slabs, stairs, fences, etc.)
Also experiencing this awful thing. It feels like some kinda ugly superpower if preventing you from moving normally. Pls fix fast. *Does commenting here count as an official documentation of this bug, or do I need to also send an email somewhere? There's too many bugs to keep track of and I would spend too much time documenting and researching them, and not enough time playing.
@derpaderperest, what do you mean by that? There is no need to comment here at all espcially if you cannot provide additional information. The bug has already been confirmed and the latest version is marked as affected version, so there is nothing more you can do.
This may even push players upward, namely if the adjacent block is a fence or wall.
Please fix ASAP!

Having the same issue this afternoon. Moving is jerky/laggy and slow and if I hop on a block I start sliding backwards to the next block. Thought it was a system resources issue so tried reloading Minecraft and no joy. Rebooted my Surface Pro and loaded MC with no other programs running and behavior persisted. This is in 1.15 pre-release 2. Although I had no issues in this version yesterday.
UPDATE: Reverting to 19w41a fixed movement misbehavior although I'm not sure if it corrupted the world I was using.

I've noticed this behavior only when the path is one block higher than another block. It's sliding downhill
Haha I came to say the same thing. Also, you can no longer walk up a bottom slab from a path block. You have to jump.

Same here. Thought it was just with farmland and water but I guess it's more encompassing than that. (video glitch at the beginning is just the fault of my recording software, not part of the game glitch)
... and it is the same even when you put upper slab in the water.
I have had this problem with Farmland right next to water it pushes you in to the Water when on edge of Farmland it been reported to me from my Members on my 1.15 Pre 2 server I'm running.
