I'm having a problem when flying with Elytra and trying to use a ladder
I believe that what should happen is: stop flying and start climbing up the ladders
I became to fall down instead going up.

This happens when flying through any climable block, so also affects ladders and vines. For ladders this is not an issue, since you usually hit a wall then, allowing you to climb up, this also fixes MC-90212.

Not actually fixed.
In 1.9.2 In addition to ladders, this also happens with vines.
To reproduce: Climb ladder or vines up a fair ways, easiest to see if you start at the top.
While climbing up or down, press space while wearing Elytra. You will accelerate at an amazing rate and die.
If you place a slime block at the bottom, it will, for the time being mitigate this bug, if it is a bug.
I am thinking perhaps NOT a bug since there is a special death message for plummeting to death from vines.

Is this not officially "works as intended?" since there is a specific death message for this?
I find it hard to believe that the death message "Steve fell from a ladder" was added by accident. And as far as I am aware this is the only way to fall from a ladder and get this message.

Still in 1.13. I think he problem is that while you're climbing a ladder, the game thinks you're in midair so it will allow you to use the elytra. A related problem is that if you're going down a ladder and hit the space bar twice, you'll start gliding with your elytra and eventually crash into the ground since you can't hang on to ladders while gliding.
1.13.2. This is a huge issue especially when trying to get off a ladder onto a platform. Even if the ladder goes up a 1x1 hole, pressing space once (for example, when trying to get off the ladder) causes me to rapidly shoot downwards uncontrollably and unstoppably and take a lot of damage.
