Blazes kill player in one hit
As noted in the changelog this issue has been fixed in the 1.8.x Beta version.
Players may still encounter the problem when playing 1.7.x, so we will leave the ticket open as a point of reference until the fix is included in the non-beta version.
Blazes are able to kill the player in one hit, dealing insane damage to heavily armored players with fire resistance potions on realms. The death message also seems buggy, as it doesn't say "Player was burnt to a crisp" or anything related to being killed by the blaze. It simply states "Player died." To recreate the bug, find a nether fortress in multiplayer, be in survival mode, with armor and fire resistance potions. Allow blazes to fire at you, making sure to keep high enough health where dying from them won't be possible. A blaze will eventually kill you with a single blow.

I was playing in my survival realm on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition on 1.0.7 a blaze one shot me, and then too my surprise after that death all my pets and animals despawned in the over world. I remember hearing that this was fixed in one of the 1.1 betas, but I'm too scared to test it. But on my single player on 1.0.8, blazes were shooting at me and I had no problems.

This was marked as MCPE-19535 before (also was reported multiple times even before that, it was just the most recently closed.) It was marked as resolved, but the issue persists. Seems to only happen in Realms. Blaze attacks, shatters all 4 pieces of Protection IV diamond armor, kills instantly. If this is intentional, it shouldn't be. Maybe for your next superboss, but not this fairly common Nether mob.

I'm re-uploading this bug report since you think it's a duplicate of MCPE-19535 when it's not. This is a whole different bug that I saw that was quite different from the other but report. The bug that I encountered happened in survival mode (normal difficulty) on single player, multiplayer was off. Here is what happened. I was digging around a blaze spawner in the nether and a couple of blazes spawned. One of them damaged me, I lost all of my diamond armor, but I DID NOT die. It was a glitch. Also after I lost my armor, I got the yellow absorbtion hearts that you get from a golden apple as you can see from the screenshot I took. MCPE-19535 is about receiving excessive damage from blaze attacks. It has comments from other players who were playing in survival mode, at every difficulty, in all modes (single player, multiplayer, and Realms). Some of them, including Mega_Spud, have also commented about not dying but losing their armor and having absorption hearts afterwards. So everything in your report is covered in that ticket.

This sounds similar to the huge damage that was dealt by Blaze fireballs in MCPE-19535. I couldn't reproduce this in the latest beta, however.

In order to reproduce this bug, I believe you need to be hit by 2 different damage sources at the exact same time (the same tick or 1/20th of a second). I tried to reproduce this by using dispensers with spawn eggs to spawn different monsters to hit me, and I could not reproduce it that way. However, if you look at the videos uploaded on MCPE-44499, the player is hit by projectile + lightning at once in one video, and by projectile + instant damage a once in the other video. The absorption hearts many players reported in connection with blazes in MCPE-19535 were also occurring in a situation where they received multiple hits all at once.
Happened to me and another OP on our realm. Both of us were decked out with ridiculous gear.

Confirmed on MCPE Realm. 1.0.3 Being near the spawner will make this more likely to happen but they can one shot you anywhere. You hear all your armor break (even diamond Protection IV) then you're dead.

Just to confirm, this issue is for Realms, right? I can't reproduce this phenomenon on LAN worlds on 1.0.6.0.
Yup, this issue is only for realm. It happend to me in version 1.0.2 when i was in nether. Rip all the armor. In realm, they shoot like each 10-15 seconds which it isn't normal and the ball can kill you 1 shot. In LAN, i think they shoot normally. Not sure.

Confirmed in 1.0.7 on realm. Full protection IV unbreaking III diamond armor. 1 Blaze is able to 1-shot me. You never see the projectile in these cases. I hear my armor break (in this case chestplate, leggings, boots, and some durability taken off the helmet) and I am dead.
I have experienced this on both realms and multiplayer survival. Most of the time blazes won't attack you then all of a sudden one just kills you with full diamond armor. A side effect is that it gives you armor that crashes win10 users and I believe it has negative durability
Can confirm on singleplayer too. Was creating a blaze farm and bam, dead. Full diamond armor too.

Hate to say this, as this was meant to have been resolved but I was one-shotted by a blaze today on a realm, win10, new update 1.1. The world was only created yesterday.
Just yesterday playing single player in 1.1, I experienced this bug.
I was wearing protection IV enchanted diamond armor, and had previously logged out in the nether with a fire resistance potion running. Within a couple minutes of logging back in I was insta-killed by the first blaze that hit me. Not only did it instantly kill me, but it also instantly broke all of my protection IV diamond armor which had been recently crafted.
Perhaps there's a bug that causes the ranged attacks to enter into a infinite loop?
I can confirm this issue for 1.1.3.52
I could reproduce it on my mobile and tablet, but not on Windows 10.
The first time I tried to test it, the blaze killed me in one hit (The sound of armour instantly breaking was heard too).
I recorded it subsequently, but this time only the armour would break, and absorption hearts would show, and overlap the normal red health hearts.

I'm playing on 1.1.4 and was just insta-killed by a blaze. Android device. I was wearing full diamond armor with fire protection enchants on two pieces, and protection on the other two.
Still happens on 1.1.5.

Fully enchanted armor, fire protection 4, protection 4, and projectile protection 4.
Absorption hearts show after being attacked, Armor is gone. Holding the tome of undying may be causing something strange to happen in this instance?
NOTE: This occurred to me as well before I obtained tome of undying so may or may not be related.
NOTE: This was not on a realm, just standard survival in easy and hard modes.
Really annoying bug and prevents me from doing anything with blazes.
The same thing is happening to me and it is extremely annoying. I've lost a full set of enchanted diamond armor TWICE because the blaze will literally one shot me (only one of his bombs hit me) and the "armor breaking" sound played as well. Happened to me a week ago, thought it must've been a unique glitch, but just happened to me again and decided to look it up.
I am playing the latest version of MC PE, on iOS, on a hard difficulty survival realm. It's bad when the blaze is the single most powerful mod in the game. I'm not sure if any of my armor had fire protection, don't know if that affected it.

This just happened to me in realms, playing Minecraft Windows 10 v1.1.5.
I didn't catch the type of death string. But the armor break sound played when the projectile hit me.
When I respawned, my rightmost heart was gold and not full. This returned to normal after 2-3 minutes. I returned to the location of death in the Nether, and found that my armor had been completely destroyed when I was hit. I recovered all other items.
This is so bizarre. it isn't in the wiki at all and there are few traces of it online in general.
I don't see how it could be a glitch though. If it isn't I'd suggest getting rid of it. In survival, building a strong set of armor can take an inordinate amount of time. To have it all annihilated is just... lame

Nope, I call BS on this being resolved. Still happens, still one hit kills in Realms even on latest 1.2 build (as in, it happened today). Broke through all the armor, which was destroyed in the process. The death message was "killed by blaze," if that makes a difference. Please open this issue again and actually fix it this time
Indeed it still happens in realms 1.2.0. I got instantly killed yesterday, wearing full diamond armour and having pretty much full health. The death message was "killed by blaze". Please fix this, the Nether is terrifying as it is already, we don't need insta-killing enemies.
Still happens in 1.2.1. Died wearing full set of unenchanted iron armor with no potions.
Had it happen in 1.5 and beyond in Survival. I had diamond armor, Fire Resistance and Resistance, not to mention Fire Resistance potion. I was killed in one hit by Blazes on a few different occasions in two different realms.
This has happened a couple of times to me. I didn't hear an armor breaking sound so I just assumed that it went into lava or burned in fire from the blaze fireballs. Last time I confirmed that only my helmet survived. Both times, I was in kill-everything-that-moves mode and had gotten what looked like a bunch of absorption hearts. The extra hearts made me over-confident and I went to disable blaze spawners (by lighting up the area with stacks of jackolanterns and spammed torches on the outside of the tower). I had thought that they had just hit me with all 3 fireballs from point blank range from multiple angles, but it was definitely this bug due to the armor breaking.
Does anyone know the source of the mystery "absorption" hearts? Do they come from killing blaze? Pigmen? Are they real? Do they disguise your actual health?
Yes this is a thing, my friend told me about this bug,I didn't believe him...
So I decided to test this out for myself, boy.......
I'm calling these guys Blaze Snipers.
He let me log on his realm, with commands, I set my self up with all the gear...(Full set diamond armour,Fire Res. potions, and of course cooked beef.)
And yes this on the newest update of the game 1.2.1(Bedrock Edition)
And in the end... I got shot and BAMMmm dead.

even after upgrading to version 1.2.2 and the error continues. fire boll kill with one hit sometimes.
Confirmed on Xbox 1 Realm on 1.2.2. Blaze has a chance to 1-shot players and destroy gear completely.

I don't think I'd be caused by an infinite loop of blaze attacks; otherwise, why would the death feed change to "[player] died" instead of [player] was shot by a blaze"?

This just happened to me with diamond armor with fire resistance IV on both the chestplate and pants. I'm blown away that this was opened last year and is still outstanding.
This has happened to me again in single player 1.2.3. Again with a mystery absorption heart although I didn't notice it until I respawned. I hadn't been killing pigmen this time, only blaze. This time they were practically blank range, so I thought that maybe it was because their fireballs spawned inside me? I think it has happened from a distance before though. I didn't have great armor (different world) but had some fire pro pieces, so that might be related. My armor was all gone, including the helmet, when I went to get it, but I lost some obsidian as well so some of my yard sale may have fallen into lava.

They fixed this bug once, apparently it's resurrected.
I got instakilled by the first fireball. When I went back and collected my items, put my armor back on, I was instakilled again! The second time I went back was more successful. However, my armor went from full durability down to all red and ready to break. Each piece was iron with unbreaking three enchantments applied.
Confirmed to affect 1.2.5.52 Realms - cannot reproduce in singleplayer though.
Confirmed here as well. Survival mode and was wearing full iron armor. Not sure what version but recently downloaded it on my kindle.
First fireball missed me, snagged me with the second and next thing I know, I've respawned at my ORIGINAL spawn point with NOTHING.
Now I have to make my way back across half of the Overworld to get back to my base... NOT happy about this bug.

This just happened to me on xbox. I was one shot by a blaze with full enchanted diamond armor with a totem which was consumed. Those items took me weeks to get. I took a video of it but it's too large to put on here. I'd like this to get fixed ASAP.

Today had the same issue on a realm, brand new iron gear, protection 1 on every piece. Game version 1.2.5. Got one shot by a blaze not just once, but three times! Each time was with a new set of armor, because every piece of the set before it was completely destroyed each time, except for one chest plate that had the lowest durability sprite (the bar that fades from green was empty). All my other items were fine.
I, too, will immediately be killed when battling a blaze in the nether on windows 10 minecraft in multiplayer realm (my realm) but not necessarily with anybody else playing in it at the time. I do not see the blaze shooting at me, but I will simply receive the death message despite full health and armor. Hasn't happened when I've been engaging with other enemies in the nether.
This problem seems to be going on for over a year. I'm guessing they don't feel this needs to be fixed?

Just happened to me as well, full armour and the blaze just turned the corner and one shot me. Ridiculous.
Happens to me in my Realm, also. Had to have happened about 3 times now. One time, it caused my entire enchanted diamond armor to disappear. I'm guessing it burned – not really sure. This past time, I was one shot killed and it burned my Fortune III, Mending I pick.
Has definitely been around for a while now. Please resolve. Makes the Nether and exploring fortresses absolutely no fun.
Happened on Windows 10 and Xbox in my Realm.
I just made my realm and this instantly happened to me as soon as I made a pair of diamond boots with every enchantment possible on them, mending, unbreaking 3, feather falling 4, depth strider 3, thorns 3, and blast protection 4. Sadly, my game crashed when I tried to record the incident happening.
I can confirm this; it just happened to me last night. Diamond armor, fire resistance potion, health fully up, killed by a blaze with one fireball. And I had been hit several times by different blazes previously to this, taking only a couple of hearts damage with each hit. This is on a survival normal realm.
I am comforted to know that this isn't just me. I read that blazes can do a melee attack of 6 damage instantly, but this shouldn't be able to kill with fully enchanted diamond gear. I made a blaze spawn about a month back with pistons that push the blazes into a 1x2 hole to be farmed. I cannot tell you how many times I died from a 1-shot, even with fire resistance potions. I just assumed this was part of the game, but it happened to my friends as well.
Anyhow, hope this helps, I was playing on PC on the Bedrock version. This didn't happen EVERY time, it would just happen randomly.
I've had it happen to me, with diamond gear on, and Fire Resistance potions and full health. One hit kills, just out of the blue.
This might sound strange, but I have a blaze farm and occasionally I can be shot by blazes. With full diamond enchantment armor I will die from one hit. If I remove my armor, one hit will not kill me. I have been hit several times and will take tons of damage, but will not die with one hit.
I can also confirm this is happening in 1.2.8. enchanted diamond with elytra. Playing realms between win10 and xbox one.
Happened to me today, respawned with an absorption heart. I had a full set of diamond armor, everything with prot 4 except my leggings which had fire prot 4

This is still a thing? I remember having this happen and all the items I dropped were all glitched out after dying.. it was really weird.
Can confirm that this is still an issue in realms as of most recent update. It’s somewhat comforting to see I’m not the only one experiencing this issue, but still immensely frustrating considering blazes are my primary means of XP farming.

Experienced today on xbox one realms. Full diamond two pieces with protection IV. Two players died this way one after the other. Approx 2mins apart. Was a long hike back to get our stuff.

This happened to me too. The sudden death was so surprising because I usually have some sort of warning beforehand but I died so quickly I couldn't tell I was hit until the death message.
Yes, this is still happening. I was perfectly fine in my high end fancy armor and then I wasn't.
My daughter and I were battling the blaze and killed several with no trouble at all and then all of a sudden I just died. It was very shocking, to say the least.
This happened to us before, several weeks ago, but I just figured it was my not paying attention but this time I was paying very close attention.

yup this glitch is seriously annoying. i am terrible at minecraft in the nether and this made it 10X worse... pls fix in next update (also i found this on windows10 bedrock edition)
Happened to me twice this evening (3/16/18) while fighting off blazes at my nether xp farm. I'm playing a Realm on the Xbox One v1.2.11. Lost a full set and 20+ levels. Very frustrating as this has not been the first time but finally decided to research bug due to its consistency. For the devs/mods wanting to replicate this issue, enclose a blaze spawner with cobble and farm them for 20-30 minutes... I'm sure it will happen.
Occurring for me. Full iron armor, only enchantment being protection 1 on the chest. Both times, I was holding a diamond sword with max of every applicable enchantment but hadn’t even taken a swing at the blaze yet.
Happening on Xbox 1 in a survival realm on normal difficulty.
I had max armor with maxed wings, and lost it all. Hard, survival, on realms.
This has happened to me multiple times also. I got lost in the Nether with my best Diamond enchanted armor. After two days and around 5 hours of playtime i miraculously found my way back. It involved going through a fortress in which I was killed by one fireball and lost everything from full hitpoints. I was very disappointed.
I got hit by a WITHER SKELETON then shot by a BLAZE and my fully enchanted diamond chest plate helmet and leggings vanished leaving boots still there all had full durability boots still had full durability but the other stuff just vanished but while having the WITHER POISON I didn't die and my armor vanished but this is what's crazy I was given 8 HEARTS of ABSORPTION
Lol I’m not the only one! I was in my single player survival world farming blazes for XP with full diamond Protection IV Unbreaking III Mending armour, and it was going good for a solid 10 minutes. Then BAM and my helmet, chestplate, and boots all broke at the same time, without reason. My leggings were left untouched, and unlike the lot of those affected by this, I did not die or get “one shotted”. Just BAM, armour disappeared in thin air, and 8 absorbtion hearts showed up. I hereby declare this DOES still happen in Pocket Edition 1.2.11 single-player, and I have lost so much time and so many resources due to the insane enchantments that were on the armour that I lost. Ahem, speaking to you, Mending!
Are you serious... I have died 5 times now! I can now say with absolute confidence that Blazes are the most powerful mob in the game. In fact I would say they are around 2-4 times harder than both the Ender Dragon and Wither. Can you please fix this... there is no excuse either remove Blazes from the game, fix it, or make them a boss mob because this is bogus. Full fire protection iron armour and still a 1 shot insta death. No mob in the game dose that much damage in one blow. I am on iPad Pro on 1.2.15 and this should be a extremely high level issue. I would put this on the top 10 list. It’s instantly #1 on my list of bugs. Fix it in any way right away.
Hey, remember when a bug was reported almost daily, but with no communication whatsoever to the community that has purchased the game? I'm not asking for an instant fix, or a miracle here, but why aren't the devs or SOMEONE communicating with their customers on this one? The last reply from any mod or developer was November of last year =/

I have same issues too. It appear had been solved on previous 2 update. But now happen again. I lost my armor, helmet, pcikaxe all diamond with full enchantment.. so bad. I'm very2 mad about this issue. It is not fair..
Maybe i should quit this game. The dev got No consistency..new update fix new bug.. but introduce older bug.. why do we need update then? Clumsy... no point..

Herman Sugianto, please note that bugs like this can be difficult to fix with several factors that may contribute to how damage is calculated. Often, fixing bugs like this may cause a different issue somewhere else. I agree it can be annoying and sometimes angering to lose your stuff due to a bug but please do not complain here with insults aimed towards the developers. This is a bug tracker, not a forum.
I understand what you mean and how it’s probably really difficult, but it’s been two years bro. There’s literally zero excuse for not having a bug this bug fixed, they’ve had pleeenty of time yet somehow haven’t fixed it
This has happened to me several times playing on my xbox one realm. The first couple times it happened I figured I was being careless and didn't realize I was low on health due to withering, but it just happened to me immediately after entering the nether with no doubt I had full health and having fully enchanted diamond armor. I did not even see the blaze it happened so quickly, only heard the fireball noise and was dead immediately. I was able to recover all but one piece of armor; but the piece will take a while to replace. This bug is absolutely killing the nether experience and needs a fix immediately!
This just happened to me. I had a full armor set on with pieces that had projectile protection, protection, and fire protection. One shot from a blaze took out probably 8 1/2 hearts (17 health) and then killed me with fire damage.
When I went back later with no armor it only took three or four hearts. However, it later killed me in one shot again when I picked up a blaze rod drop.
Please fix this glitch immediately. It is ruining this part of the game and has ended our progress and enthusiasm to play.
I noticed this bug listing is tagged as PC - Windows 10. I can confirm it for iOS version 1.2.16, playing on iPad3 in Realms as well. I was wearing a diamond chest piece and iron helm, boots, and pants, all enchanted with a mix of protections (pretty sure I had fire protection on at least one piece, but it was a mix of whatever I could get with the levels I had at the time). I was cruzing through the nether fortress and cautiously approached a blaze that was in my path (I've had this happen before...). Despite my caution, I was insta-killed by blaze in one hit. I didn't have time to react to the blaze fireball. I wonder if that's part of the problem. Whenever this happens, it's like the fireballs arrive at the player instantly. I was ready for this one, but there's just no chance to dodge the shot. Maybe this weird behavior is somehow related to lag? I heard the clunk of my armor breaking and had keep inventory on, so when I respawned I immediately checked my armor and found that every piece was broken. Rage quit. Jira. Bug report. Arg.
This has happened to me as well I play on survival mode and the last 2 times I have been wearing full diamond armor with lots of enchants including mending. The blazes hit so hard they 1 hit kill you and destroy the armor in the process. My armor Had full durability. I’ve now lost 2 full sets of diamond armor and it’s going to take me days to get back all the enchants on them. I play on Xbox on a realm. This is a game breaking bug that needs to be fixed.

this is getting out of control;but, it is a queer glitch. on one of my worlds i totally dont play anymore because i lost EVERYTHING and i kept tring to retrive my stuff but i couldnt. i try and try again to get blaze rods and i cant they just one-hit-kill me. however, on another world it seems fine. i mean they still do quite a lot of damage about 6 hearts usually but they dont instakill. so on some worlds it is broke and some it is getting better.....

Bug still occurs in IOS 1.4.0, wearing full iron then 1 hit by blaze with armor breaking sound effect. Retrieved iron boots which were damaged from full durability to ~5% within 1-2 hits.

Latest IOS minecraft version 1.4.2. (Single player survival) still occurs whether wearing any armor enchanted and/or unenchanted. (armor usually has big durability reduction but not weapons) Items not broken usually retrievable.
Occurs while standing still or moving when hit by fireballs either from far or close range
Been killed whether mining by pickaxe or camping blaze spawner with sword
Gold Absorption hearts appeared in previous versions but now I simply get killed and respawn; However one time upon respawn was repeatedly killed at last bed spawn point and had to restart game.
Message is usually : You died (not killed by blaze)
NOT fixed in 1.4 . Why exactly is this bug marked as fixed EVERY new release, and yet it never is fixed. Is this just a method of closing bug reports without actually addressing them?
Bob Lee and karadine - did you see this issue in 1.4 on a Realm or single player?
This bug has only ever been happening on Realms. Prior comments make that crystal-clear.
That's not true, it has affected single player previously, and I wanted to be absolutely clear that the issue hasn't regressed in that area.
I did a test in Win 10 single player and it has a sense of being fixed for that. I set up a blaze spawner, switched to hard survival, and engaged in some melee combat with them, suffering repeated fireball attacks, but no instant deaths. I then went and found a fortress, same result. Some time ago I did a similar test, and about 1 in 10 (not an exact number) of the fireball attacks would result in instant death. I've yet to try it in iOS PE single player, where before I had a similar result to Win 10 (about 1 in 10 fireball attacks resulted in instant death). Side note: For me, armor destruction during instant death was much rarer than the instant deaths themselves.
@Karadine - While I understand this is frustrating, would you agree that @Mega_Spud is asking specifics about your issue in order to actually get it fixed? I highly doubt he/she is asking just to cause further frustration. They have a system in place that players affected can just add a comment and mention them to ensure that it doesn't slip between the cracks and can be reopened if people are able to reproduce. I'm not saying your frustration isn't warranted, this is a long standing issue, but developers have metrics that force responsibility upon them to fix outstanding issues.I, too, have been frustrated. I don't mean to sound like I'm criticizing, but perhaps it's possible to try to see from @Mega_Spud 's perspective and meet him/her halfway.
As far as this issue goes, I'm still experiencing it on Windows 10 as well. It's not all the time, but it just seems to happen randomly in survival mode (I was on normal).
Well then if its happening in single player, it is far less common (and maybe we're talking about separate bugs). But to expand on my point, if developers are not SPECIFICALLY investigating this and are just doing a couple courtesy tests in single player, then they need to radically ramp up their investigation. Since it happens more on realms, then latency might be a factor, and since devs work locally and on high-end equipment typically, they probably cannot recreate it.
This bug is a pain point exactly because it happens on realms, where players often are guests. It destroys their armor instantly, which can represent a lot of work especially on a realm. What I'd like to be hearing is for devs to be asking players for specific realm names and times so they can crunch logs. Or set up a realm for people watching this bug to connect to. Load spawn with some diamond armor, enchant books, and a nether portal and they can watch it happen live.
From what I’ve seen about this bug as I’ve been following for months now since the first 2-3 times this happened to me, this happens on all platforms but seems to be specifically happening to realms which i also experienced. Before converting my Xbox one word to realms i spent lots of time with my sons in a blaze spawn room collecting xp and rods using fire portions with no issues. Shortly after migrating the world to realms i started experiencing these insta deaths that also would destroy some pieces of my armor despite having a fire potion and protection IV on most pieces. Since that that time i now snipe blazes with my bow and stay as far away from them as possible and have been able to avoid insta death.
If if you are playing on realms you can restore one of the auto backups they take, it sucks to loose an hour of gameplay, but it beats loosing all your enchanted diamond armor because of a glitch
For all of the reasons that karadine listed, the approach to this bug is neither reasonable nor professional. It is very expensive for players to trust the note claiming it's fixed only to discover it's not, and thus its effects are particularly game ruining. It doesn't take very long to specifically test for it, and numerous players have shown it's not particularly elusive to reproduce. The natural conclusion is that devs must be making experimental changes that they hope fix the bug while putting in literally zero QA effort to validate. Instead, they claim "fixed" to players so that they'll do the QA instead.
I'd have to agree with @Karadine about the logs, it's a good suggestion @Mega_Spud. And as far as @Jonathan Kirkland 's thoughts, I'd also have to agree that he makes a fair point about it being misleading to be marked as fixed on this one in particular just because devs can't seem to reproduce. So instead of bashing the devs, let me ask this very specifically:

So I recently have read what I missed over the last few days and have been shocked at the amount of people who say this is a Realm based thing. I can tell you it’s not.
It may be more likely on Relms but it dose happen on single player, and it took me only 5 fireballs to get it to happen. I am on 1.4 on iPad Pro (iOS 11.4 Beta 6).

First off what I think is going on. I have a hunch that this glitch has something to do with you being in air when getting hit. Thats why you see me jumping. I will try again and update this if I can do it without jumping.
The video shows me in full chainmail armour getting insta-killed by a Blaze. Sadly because of the 10 second max video I can only show a snip of what happened. I am on a no-cheats survival single player world. When I returned to pick up my stuff every pice of armour was nowhere to be found. All other items were accounted for. I did have to edit the video in iMovie to get to show you my inventory since I feel that’s important.
If any more information is needed, please post it here and I will eventually see it and respond.

Happens here too with diamond protection 4 armour on ,I’m using IOS version iPad Pro. This has been an issue for a long time. Playing on a realm.
So, I had an after-thought here. We have many people that would desperately like this to be fixed, but the devs are asking for more information. Lots of complaining, but only a few players have provided extended detail. So after @Joshua De Ruieter's comment, it got me thinking, let's meet in the middle and get as much information as possible, so the devs can either notice a pattern, or re-create. I thought of some sample questions in hopes that this will help give direction for future reports. A lot of what is listed here are from previous notations.
So far, here is the compiled information I was able to gather from this topic about this issue.

I play on pocket edition, and this completely ruined my entire game. I had full diamond armor, each equipped with mending and a standard protection 4. I had a bow with power four, infinity, unbreaking (3 i think?) and flame. I was on the ground farming blazes for XP. I was instantly killed by one single hit of a blaze furecharge, and all my armor along with weapons and items for the most part flung into the fiery lava below. I had a standard inventory, with golden apples, materials, fishing rod, usual stuff. It happened many times throughout my game, but I would be boxed in my blaze spawner area resulting in my items being safely re-pickup-able. This final time I was on my walk back to my portal and I got hit. There were no potion effects active at the time. This occurred on easy, and hard mode (as I believed it could be because the difficulty, but it does occur on all game difficulties.)
This was also on a single player world, and my armor never broke. I just died instantly

Happens on Xbox .... 3 players on realm 1 shot killed. Completely unacceptable when trying to play in survival.

This happens to all 4 of the players on my realm. Most of the time I don't even hear anything (the iron clanking, etc), We just die. This probably should be in the realms reporting area.
However, I'd like to see something from the devs other than "more info". WHAT info do you want? We can guess like Joey did, but without specifics we can't really give relevant information.
Found this bug after four one-shot deaths while attacking blazes by a spawner. Everything except armor survived, disabled the spawner with torches with help of a friend (who also got one-shotted and died).
We’re playing on Realms, my Xbox One client is v1.4.2, uncertain of the Windows 10 client version. This didn’t happen in a previous version, I was surprised to see it today but glad Mojang is working on a solution.

I have suffered this bug many times (about 5) in the past 3 days. Every time I had a full set of enchanted armor with Protection 3 & 4, and Blast Protection 2 & 3. My armor will go from full health to nearly broken after I am instant killed. Also 3 of my friends have encountered the something so this doesn't seems to be a rare bug in fact it seems fairly common.
Still happening to me I'm not sure why they aren't prioritizing this bug. I'd rather see a stable game with no new features than a broken game with new features.
What I find fascinating is blazes don’t one-shot me when I’m not wearing armor. It’s almost as if armor is multiplying the damage instead of dividing (or, more likely, the numerator and denominator is backwards in the division to act as a damage multiplier).
Please refrain from complaining about the issue here. We understand it is a frustrating issue that has been around for sometime but complaining about the issue here does not help the bug get fixed any faster, consider up-voting the issue instead. Providing new information is helpful and please restrict comments to that. Thank you.
As near as I can tell in my attempts to recreate the issue on my Realm, it's specifically linked to Fire Resistance. I have Fire Resistance 4 on my Diamond Legs. I took them off, no insta-death. The previous day, I had been wearing armor without fire resistance and successfully farming Blaze for several hours.
Win10 edition software, Minecraft Realm server.
Earlier today I was instakilled by a Blaze and I was wearing plain iron armor, no enchantments. This bug is so nasty, I don't wander the nether with any "good stuff."

Blazes can't kill me with even no armor, for me. They just drain some of my health.
I was playing Minecraft with an IPad Pro on version 1.5.3, and I was trying to make a blaze grinder. I've lost three SETS of armor and died countless times thanks to this bug.
I was playing on a singleplayer world, not a realm.
So, I did some damage calculations today and some testing. First off, blaze flame does 3 damage in easy, and 5 damage on normal (Didn't test hard). Everything I tested came up within expectations. Here are the results of my testing: All of the Iron calculations on easy are off because the base damage was off.
Version: 1.5.3/bedrock - Windows 10 PC.
Methodology: I created a flat world in creative, found a good spot (straight hallway) in the nether, created a portal back to the main world, created a bed and a few chests. I forged various iron chest plates with no enchantments up to Fire Protection IV. Here are those results:

Full Diamond with 20 EP fire protect cap:
.2 damage! (20 armor should reduce damage to 1, 80% of that reduces to .2)

Conclusion:
Either A> they have fixed it or B> it's not fire protection alone. Blase fireballs seem to be considered both Projectile AND fire protection. I'm wondering if you go over max EP combining those two, something odd happens. I will be testing that in a bit. Everything is within expectations so far.
This used to be a problem in single player until it was patched. It will most likely get fixed soon.
This is definitely not fixed. I just died with full health. Full diamond armor. One shot. If I could get the clip to upload I can show it. I’m on Xbox one bedrock edition. I have never had an issue until this phantom update.

I just died to this and lost 22 levels. I had diamond protection 4 boots leggings and chestplate, a turtle shell, and full health. It was on realms.
Of course, I couldnt find the location of my items because when you die the coordinates aren't shown anymore, and some of my items probably got burnt up, and the nearest backup was 40 minutes before...
Same thing happened to me the other day. I would just go back to the previous save. Especially if you lost armor and other items.
This just happened to me on Nintendo Switch, version 1.6.0 I was playing single player at the time.
2 other players and i just experienced this issue as well. wearing full iron armor with fire protection potions we would still get one hit, the fire protection potion seemed to decrease the chances of getting one hit, but it did not remove them. we were playing on a realm on xbox one.
This is still an issue, as of current windows 10 version. Also I play on a realms, it is seemingly impossible when the spawn rate of them is so high in a nether fortress and to get one shot by them is to much.
Just happened to me again. I have noticed a trend that it literally vaporizes armor, unless either the armor is leggings or Projectile Protection (both times that was the only armor piece that survived, helm, chest, and boots had vanished). I would theorize that a calculation error causes a fireball to do infinite damage, meaning armor with regular, Blast, and Fire Protection gets destroyed, and the player automatically dies.
On Realms, I was hit by a blaze fireball. This fireball set me on fire as expected, but it also gave me extra health (absorption) as well as fully repairing my armor.
I attached a video to this issue. You may notice that, at the beginning of the video, I had extra hearts. This was also from a prior Blaze attack and not any normal source of the Absorption potion effect. Also, cheats are not enabled in this Realm.
I can reproduce this fairly consistently. All I have to do is get hit by a blaze fireball.

Just had this happen in Realms, 3 times. One-shot by Blaze, while wearing full Diamond armor, with fire and blast protection IV on. Needs to be fixed, because this is making Nether fortresses unplayable.
Had a blaze kill me while I was at full health with full diamond armor in realms as well today.
It just happened to me again last week. I'm wearing diamond armor with Protection IV on both the chestplate and leggings, Blast Resistance IV on the helmet, and Fire Resistance IV on the boots (among other things), and went from full health to dead in one single fireball at a distance of maybe 15-20 blocks.
This happened to me three times before I finally realized that it was in fact a bug and recorded it because I wasn't looking at my health before I died (because I didn't think it was low enough to be an issue seeing as I hadn't been hit yet). It was a one hit me when I was at full health and wearing full diamond armor, I attached a clip named "Blaze Glitch." The blaze was probably less than 5 blocks away and I had no other status effects in the occurrence that I recorded.

Guys they are aware of this and the fix should come in the next beta. Repeating what's already been said will not help them fix bugs any quicker, in fact it'll make it harder to look through the comments. If you don't have anything new to add, simply upvote the ticket and wait until the bug gets fixed
Let's not act like this is a recent issue and they're all over it. This has 140+ comments, is two years old, and is still happening.
They said on the latest stream they've finally fixed the bug and the fix will be rolling out on the next beta for us to test, and that it was way harder than it seemed to fix it. Don't act like they just brush these things under the rug either. They just have a lot of priorities and some bugs just happen to be lower in their priority list. Would you rather have had them focus on this bug immediately while there might have been a game breaking bug that , say, deletes people's saves?

We understand some bugs are frustrating, especially since they can have serious effects on game play making it undesirable even for us and can be more annoying when the bug is present for quite some time. Here is not the place to complain but to share information in hopes of getting the issue resolved.

This issue appears to be fixed in 1.8.0.10, but only if your world has Experimental Gameplay enabled in world settings. I will let everyone know when this is fixed for worlds with Experimental Gameplay disabled in world settings.
Why would they not tell people they would need to turn on experimental gameplay to get the fix in the first place? It'd be a good change if they added an "experimental changes" area to the changelogs

No need to send a test world, it seems to be fixed for all worlds (Experimental Gameplay on or off) in 1.8.0.11
Man this is annoying. It's not fixed! This just happened today to me on Realms Windows 10 Minecraft. I'm playing on PC with someone who is on Xbox. I've died 3 times now to a blaze and have lost a ton of stuff because of lava and fire destroying it. I had FULL health with FULL iron armor! It's a one hit kill! All I hear is the blaze "swish swish swish" and die instantly before I can even react. Sometimes I see the fire thing right before it happens. I just assumed maybe there was a chance where it hits you in the head and instant kill because I couldn't find my helmet after dying. But this is insane, everytime I get my stuff I die instantly from another blaze even when moving around like crazy. Hours wasted just running through the nether trying to get my stuff back before dying all over again.

This is fixed in the beta, not the full release. Please wait for the stable release to update to 1.8 before commenting on whether it is fixed or not in 1.8 ☺.
A time cannot be given as to when 1.8 will release however I expect it to be soon (with in a week or 2) as the beta has reached 1.9.

As with most minor updates, it contains various bug fixes and new content with 1.8 adding Pandas and Scaffolding along with several other features and fixes. Yup, has happened to me twice on 1.7.1 XBox one realm. Insta death. Full Enchanted diamond armor. Will be so glad to see this released. After it happened again last night decided to search to see if it was a bug or not. Glad to see it is.

Still not fixed with the 1.7.1 ,the only thing who changed is that the shaders that I'm using is not working anymore.
This should be fixed for all players now that 1.8.0 has been released.
