The Bug:
Block cracks don't appear on the lower halves of doors when zombies are breaking them.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Ensure that the difficulty is set to "hard" and the "mobGriefing" gamerule is set to "true" by using the commands provided below.
/difficulty hard
/gamerule mobGriefing true - Build the setup as shown in the attachment below. setup.png

- While standing on top of the diamond block, summon a zombie that is able to break down doors by using the command provided below.
/summon minecraft:zombie ~ ~ ~ {CanBreakDoors:1b,ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{id:"minecraft:iron_helmet",Count:1b}]} - Stand on the opposite side of the door as the zombie, switch into survival mode, and get it to notice you.
- Once it begins breaking the door, look at the lower half of it.
- Take note as to whether or not block cracks appear on the lower halves of doors when zombies are breaking them.
Observed Behavior:
Block cracks only appear on the upper halves of doors and not the lower halves.
Expected Behavior:
Block cracks would appear on both halves of doors.

Created Issue:
Zombies cannot break the lower half of a door.
Zombies are unable to destroy the bottom half of doors. Villagers, however can access houses with doors placed one block above the ground. This means doors can be placed one-block above the ground to protect villagers. (See attached picture - the zombie is jumping but is unable to reach the villager).
Zombies should have the ability to break doors from below.

A comment with security level 'global-moderators' was removed.

At least since 1.16.2 the zombies no longer jump and instead don't pathfind through elevated doors

Can confirm in 20w49a. I've attached an additional screenshot. To reproduce this issue, I'd recommend creating a superflat world with the preset, "The Void". Next, make a one block wide long space and separate a zombie from a villager by using a door. To make sure that the zombie can actually break the door, summon one with the following NBT:
/summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {CanBreakDoors:1}Additionally, make sure that the difficulty is set to hard.

If you, as the player, break a door, the breaking animation only displays on one half. So, I fail to see why it should be any different when a zombie destroys a door.
