This issue may be caused by third party anti-ransomware software.
Note that it is not the only possible cause - crashes can also reset the progress (see MCD-1205), so does Windows usernames that contain special characters (MCD-101). Always use the pause menu to properly quit the game.

Version 1.8.8.0, released on May 5th 2021, introduced the feature of cloud saves. Please make sure to use this feature in order to avoid this issue.
Cloud saves can be accessed by opening the character selection and either clicking "Upload Hero" when an existing hero is selected, or "Download Hero" when an empty space is selected.

Cloud saves can be accessed by opening the character selection and either clicking "Upload Hero" when an existing hero is selected, or "Download Hero" when an empty space is selected.

Does MCD-1142 describe your issue?
On MCD-1142, it's upon restarting the game. In my case, it was upon the second player leaving and rejoining later.
Also, 1142 seems to be attributed to avast cleanup software on a PC. Viktors and I were playing on Playstation 4.
The issues are similar in that they both involved deleting / wiping save data, but they're distinct in that MCD-1142 involves the save file location being deemed "junk" by a 3rd party program whereas this one is a game console corrupting or wiping save files for some other reason.

Some users have reported that this happens after a power outage, so that might be a possible way to reproduce.

Same problem here, waiting a solution. It's seems like the local saving is the main problem.
It's probably because this game saves your progress locally instead of on a server. I had my game deleted because the power went out while I was playing ONLINE. Just requested a refund.
Same to me. After restart the game (no install/reinstall action was done). The game drops everything. Not only my progress and items but also game setting - it's ask me to select language and start my hero from zero (from tutorial)
Please help to restore my progress (if it's possible) about 28 hours of game experience are lost for me - really upset about this.

I didn't realize this was more common than I thought. I lost my 106 hero yesterday as well.
This is just so sad . Wasting all the time and then poof in one second. I don't feel playing the game anymore to be honest. Gladly I got the xbox game pass so I can try other games.But if we don't get our heroes back I think this is just so unfair.
This has happened to me twice since launch. I would suggest not starting a new character until they can provide a response to save yourself the headache.

My game froze and then I had to restart my pc. When I opened dungeons the next day the game prompted me to create a new character. I was able to find the save file still in the dungeon's saves, but the game does not recognize it. I have attached my save in hopes that it will shed light on the issue.
I restarted my computer to install an update and now my character and profile are gone, it seems to be what these guys are dealing with. Will we be able to get our characters back with their items? If we didn't uninstall Dungeons, shouldn't the singleplayer data be in there somewhere?
Some users have reported that this issue is caused while disabling the Internet connection and then reenabling it. This is the bug report of
MCD-3016:So i tried to play it without wifi for once as there was offline but it didn't work, so i just keep retrying and click retrying until it shows signed out but afterwards it says says retrying. Now that i am connected to wifi and my launcher is signed in, i cant find my player data anymore.
In our case data loss took place after P4 controller deactivated from 10 minutes of inactivity (while we were at Camp). When she rejoined, it wasn't loading up her data and she pressed X (playing on PlayStation 4 Pro) to create and I think that overwrote her existing data which had failed to load.
We have had many crashes and sometimes coming out of the crash the player data doesn't load, but we have been able to just re-launch the application and then the save data does get loaded correctly. I think most important think is to not choose to "create new" when existing data is not loading and reboot the game instead.
Something similar has happened to us twice. Playing 3 player local co-op on PS4. Characters level 20+. At character select, player joined then pressed X to select character and it bounced to select new skin. Came back out and player and progress had been erased (or overwritten with a level 1). This has happened twice over the past to days. No crash or anything, no inactivity, no ideas.

It sucks that the game has these annoying crashes every day we play and additionally this risk of data loss. We have started making daily backup after we play without data loss, so if any future data loss occurs, we only lose 1 day of progress instead of many days. We are using USB flash drive for this since only one of us has PS+ and the automatic cloud storage backups.
I think that is only safe way to continue to play this game until these issues are patched and we have our confidence restored.
Avast Cleanup deletes save data and saved settings of the Microsoft store (Windows 10) Version during automatic and manual maintenance tasks. Avast labels these files as System Junk > Windows Metro Cache Files. (See below)
Disabling automatic maintenance at: Settings (Cog icon) > Automatic maintenance > Click the green switch will stop automatic removal of the save data and settings files. (see below)
Before a manual maintenance task, unticking System junk will prevent the task from deleting the files (not performing any manual maintenance would be the best advice though)
Other cleanup software, perhaps even Windows Disk Clean-Up, may also remove the save data and settings files but these have not been investigated.
Edit Note: Avast Anti-virus has nothing to do with this, only the cleanup program under the same brand name.
Does creating a new character affect my hero from possibly returning? What the chances of me getting my 106 hero back? I love the game but right now I am just so hesitant to play since losing my hero I put so much time into.
I checked Avast but no part of the Avast was on automatic maintenance. This was the second time it happened the first time I was around level 35. The second time I was level 71. Each time when I open the game to play it asked me for what language.
Happened to my roommate. From what he explained, though, was that somehow he had opened up two copies of the game accidentally. He closed the level 20 game he had, then the one that only had the level 1, and it saved the level 1, wiping his progress.
So far, over the past week, my best friend has had 2 characters disappear...a level 5 and now a level 25 (which he is not happy about). I just had my character vanish from my character selection list. It's very upsetting. What is going on because from the looks of Google, we are not the only ones experiencing this. We are both playing on Windows 10.
This is a serious bug that needs to be looked at and fixed. Thank you for your assistance.
Saves are stored at %localappdata%/Dungeons/numbers/ and there is the Characters folder and CharactersTrashcan, CharactersTrashcan is where deleted saves are stored (possibly temporary, I don't know) and Characters is where your current saves are. this bug corrupts the save, as the file is still there but isn't read by the game, and forces you to make a new character.

I have no words. Ill just keep watch but I cannot play this if its just going to delete my characters over and over.

I just read the update and saw the Avast Cleanup Tool may be causing the problem. But the Avast Cleanup is only available if you pay for it. I have automatic maintenance on but I unchecked the system junk option. So then my next question would be why is only Minecraft dungeon saves the only Microsoft Store game that I ran into that the saves can be deleted by removing system junk? And also is everyone who lost their character this way SOL? I just need to know this before I start playing again.
I've been having issues with MCD, where cold reboots happen. In the latest one, I lost my character. I can still see a numbers folder with 2 .dat files in there. Would this mean a corrupt save in there?
Hello this has happened to me as well on PC. Finished a round or two and was at camp. Opened inventory to view loot. Game froze. Had to power off PC. Came back next day and launched game. My main character that I had open when the game froze was completely missing. Checked trashcan folder, and it only had others that I had actually deleted, but not this character. Since the game was just frozen and I had to power off PC as well, did not see any relevant crash dumps.
I don't have avast, just windows defender.
I do not use Avast or Avast Cleanup, I bought the game on June 5 and on the 8th I already had it passed in all 3 modes and it was level 110 with unique armor and weapons level 104 and 106, and I was just connecting to try to get unique level 108 weapons, the last day I entered was on the 9th and I went to sleep it was late and at dawn a big surprise I found myself, my character was not there, I went to where it is stored and there was my character there is but it did not load the game and my communication with support and until today nothing that answers me. and it only says that Avast Cleanup and they do not give any solution, it has seen other cases and the answer is that we must start from scratch that there is no way to recover. I see very little attention from Mojang to its users.
I don't have Avast Cleanup as I play MC dungeons on the PS4, yet I still have this issue.
I don't have Avast Cleanup, i play in PC on the xbox launcher, the issue happend when the power went off on my house so my pc restart, when i came to the game again all my progress was lost.
I only lost my main characther level 52 and the other one i made (level 2) is alright .
This is a serious bug that needs to be fixed and our progress must also be returned to us.
Im just stunned at the amount of people experiencing this problem with a finished product, and same here... No avast Cleanup or anything except what comes with the windows 10 pc...lost my save files, how could this game have no cloud saving? Total Shock...didn't even get what was paid for (that being the Hero Edition DLC content)...fix everything...implement cloud saving and update me when the issue is solved, release 1.16 in the meantime so theres other things to explore while you fix this game...
Same here i don't have Avast cleanup and the game crashed about an average of 5 times everyday I play. I didn't lose my current characters every time but I had a few times and had lost quite a few valuable items. I have been cloning my character every single time i get something good but sometimes the game crashes when I'm still in the dungeon. I've lost a lot of time and progress due to this issue and i hope it gets patched.
This is happening every time my husband and I play on PS4 local co-op. My player (p2) character gets moved to his characters and mine defaults to a level 0 character every time we start the game again. We were able to fix it once by restoring an old save file but it doesn't work every time. The most recent occurrence was today.
I'm also don't have avast or any other cleaner tool on my PC lost all gear and last dungeon i did its progress got rest (not shown as complete)
I am starting to get a bit worried. It has been weeks and the only update is Avast Cleannup Tool may be causing the issue but others are reporting the same problem but do not have that application. I want to play this game but 3 of my characters I have lost because of this. Disabling system junk did not stop the issue which is how I lost my 3rd character. Until then I cannot justify putting time into the game let alone buying the DLC.
I was playing a local game with my three children on a PS4. Running the latest version. Game crashed. After restart the save file for one of my children got corrupted. The game freezes when she joins. My PS4 account has the PS Plus membership and hence I am the only one who can restore game and character save files from the cloud.
The outcome now is that one of my children just lost her character and we must start from the beginning. Please fix this. I am not sure if I dare to continue playing if there is the risk that we will loose characters again.
We have seen corrupted save files on PS4 before as well. I was hoping that the latest batch would have fixed this.

In our experience (playing 4 players local co-op on PS4), the game can cause data loss every 10-15 crashes. It will happen again, even after the latest patch.
The way we are avoiding losing character progress is by backup up Application Saved Data to USB for each player on a USB flash drive at the end of each play session. This way the most you will lose is 1 play session for 1 of the players, but at least you can restore and be back to before you started playing for that 1 player. It has never lost data for more than 1 player with any crash.
For what it is worth, if they are a few character levels behind you because of something like this, it doesn't prevent them from getting higher level gear, so the imbalance doesn't stay there long.
I just had the same problem on XBox. My wife and I had been playing (she on PC, me on XBox, she was hosting the world)... We logged out to make dinner (no crash) but when I log back in, I have NOTHING! No XP, no items, like a new character... but in the same starting location as where she logged out (not the original spawn point).
Aggravating becuase we have no way to prevent losing everything...
As the save data folder have been moved to %HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\Mojang Studios\Dungeons Cleanup software should no longer misidentify the save files as Metro Cache for the Microsoft store (UWP, Windows 10) version.
However, some Anti-Ransomware software (ie: Norton SafeLock) may block Dungeons from writing new saved data onto existing data BUT you should be notified about this and given the option to add Dungeons to the exclusion/exemptions/safe list.
I would like to also mention that 3rd party software (ie: Antivirus programs, Cheat Engine, Cleanup software, Anything not dungeons) is definitely not the only cause of Save Data Destruction.
Using ALT-F4, Ending via Task Manger, Shut down/Restart/Log off when the game is still running with your character loaded or any other methods for forcibly closing Dungeons can also cause data "corruption" - Always use Pause > Return to desktop (Or Return to Main menu > Exit to desktop).
Of course, Data loss may occur "spontaneously" and hence, creating backups is Highly recommended by the community (this is applicable for all other data as well, not just Dungeons). Always expect the unexpected and always prepare for the worst

For console users with Online subscriptions, disabling automatic cloud backup for Dungeons for full manual control of your backups is not a bad idea (The auto-backup replace working files with damaged ones), you WILL need to remember to upload your saved data regularly though.
Using USB/SD backups as cusman suggested for the PlayStation 4 is also an effective method to keep backups.
(I should have given an update when 1.2.0+ patch was introduced to Windows - apologies for the lateness)
I have the XBOX One Edition of Minecraft Dungeons using my subscription to Game Pass. 4 people in my family play the game and 3 of us have had issues with it reverting our level to a lower level. It recently reverted my level from 80 to 74, others in my family have been reverted multiple times going from 80 down to 60. When it does this we retain all items in inventory and some times get back items that we already sold, it also will duplicate some items that we may have equipped. Our enchantment points will go negative when it does this until we sell off all duplicated enchanted items. It will also show that we didn't complete some levels that were completed prior to the bug. And it appears we lose items that were achieved at the end of the level reward chest. This appears to occur more often when playing local multiplayer and the system crashes. It's happened to us at least 6-7 times in the last month and is ruining the game for us. This is one of the few games we can play as a family, it's a shame it's so buggy that we may have to quit playing it altogether.
I have the same issue on my PS4 playing locally with my son.
Consider some compensation like allowing us to create 20, 40, 60 and 80 levels from scratch because this is terrible - I had to clean my gamesave data but it did not help us! I am not playing the game until this is fixed. And after that, I am not sure if I want to grind from scratch.
so mojang linked more than 100 other players to this completely irrelevant bug? this is for pc. how are you going to mark my bug as resembled and link me to this which is completely irrelevant from my problem?

I have a similar issue to this and I play on PC using an Xbox One controller. I completed the whole DLC then ran the Mushroom Cow level. After returning to camp and rolling for a nice Mushroom Cap artifact, the game exited back to the character screen. I lost all saved data except for a few of the gears that I earned from running the first level of the DLC.
I played the first level and the hidden Panda level several times and never had an issue. It was only after I completed the DLC and defeated the abomination did the game revert to my previously saved game data, which was a couple or so days old...
I'm heartbroken by all the hard work collecting level 113 equipment. For now, I've stopped playing the game.
Hope this feedback helps with finding the cause of the bug/issue.
We play on an Xbox One X, usually local play with 2-3 players, and this has happened to us a handful of times in the last week.
The first instance was immediately after completing the secret cow level (as a 3, in local play). After we finished the level, I also purchased the Hero pack DLC and installed it.
Restarting the game later found at least two of us had lost significant enchantment points (they went into the negative), lost a meaningful number of levels (one dropped from the 90s to low 80s), and lost items. Some items were duplicated, and while some enchantment points could be recovered by selling duplicates, there was absolutely a net loss in points, levels and items.
This happened again twice more, having played and completed the secret level (including after a single player game, so it was not restricted to co-op play), so we've decided not to play that level any more, which is very frustrating.
So far, the DLC has not caused this issue (we've played 2 of the 3 new levels).
I do have PC version, but i dont use Avast, nor any other antyvirus, not even any cleaning tool software. In my issue im loosing 1-2 equiped items AND it converts some items to lvl1! Items that are affected might be in my backpack or on my hero.
I am experiencing constant crashes causing soft resets to my computer. When I'm only about a few minutes in MCD will completely lock up then the computer begins to reset. I have no clue what is causing this, reinstallation is my next step. However with all the restarts my Character had been completely deleted from the selection. The file for the character is there (non-character spaces in notepad.)
The very disappointing problem is that there is no way to repair the corrupted file (if that is even possible) or an automated backup option within game (PC). My hope is that character files will be looked at for stability and protection from corruptions. Seems like the game is very vulnerable to any restarts.
Happened twice now on PS4. Both times to player 2. All trophies achievements are still there. Seems the character connection within the game breaks and the game defaults to player at level one. hope you can fix this bug to return folks players. Numerous forums going about this issue

So this happened again, and again it rolled back one user by over 14 levels and put the enchantments to negative 40. This game is unplayable in its current state.
Given that this only started once I downloaded the DLC, I assume it's something to do with that, but in any case I'll be requesting a refund from Microsoft, as this is absolutely unplayable with a problem of this magnitude, and the fact that it hasn't been addressed yet is really not good enough.
If the Xbox allowed you to copy save files, you could possibly mitigate against this somewhat, but as it stands the game is basically ruined because of this issue. Playing on an Xbox One X, in local co-op with 2 or 3 people, while playing the new DLC levels. The issue hasn't happened during single player games (yet).

And after playing today to get back some gear, I just reopened the game to find it wiped worse than ever!
I exited the game earlier today with at least enough gear to be at power 113, despite the fact that I had been at 114 for weeks. Now, I have power level 38!? ONE piece of armor at 113, a level ONE sword, level ONE bow, and ONE level 115 artifact.
What is going on?!
I'm at level 281 in the game, and I am down to power level 38. This game is just getting ruined. I had nearly every unique between levels 110-113 at one point. This is pathetic.
This is an absolutely AWFUL bug.
My son and I have been playing coop on the PS4 for the last few months and yesterday his character completely disappeared, looking at save data it's no where to be found, it's like it never existed. We didn't lose power, didn't accidentally delete, it's just gone.
This issue is nearly 3 months old and it's unfathomable that this hasn't been addressed.
You've made game based on leveling and collecting, you have no cloud backup, and you have a known issue that causes characters to disappear, and done nothing.
Be better Mojang, it's no fun watching your kids face flush with disappointment knowing the time he's invested in the game is gone. Be better!

This happened to us twice today, both times to my wife's account. In each case she was playing solo on the XBox 1 version and I added into the game from camp, rather than going back out to menu.
The first time it seemed to duplicate some of her items in her bag, specifically ones she had enchanted, and as a result her enchantment points were set to -26. We salvaged the "duplicate" (I say that in quotes because they were not exact duplicates and seemed to be earlier versions of those same pieces of gear) and that fixed her points and we moved on.
The second time it duplicated the gear, reset the equipment in her bags (losing a unique armor and bow in the process) and her enchantments were once again negative AND she lost 7 levels.
Upon further investigation it looks like she reverted to a previous version of herself from the last time she and I played together. I'm guessing there is a timestamp or version stamp or something on my character that was erroneously used to load her character as well, pulling the older version, which then got written as the "current" version.
Oh, and the swap didn't take place until we loaded into Arch Haven, so it is something in the routine to load the characters into zone for quests.
Let me know if I can provide more information or help. I didn't think to get screen shots but I will start doing so now as I expect this will happen again.
Is this issue going to be fixed anytime soon or mabey some kinda level reimbursement or something? I'm done playing this game knowing that any time I hop on my level could be reset and lose all my hard earn gear and levels. Mabey ill come back some day but not unless something is gonna be done about this
This issue also occurred to my wife's account last night. A few details that may help in resolving the issue:
My wife and I were looking forward to Creeping Winter coming out, so we saved a lot of emeralds to spend on the new features. However this bug has left a sour taste in our mouth so we won't be purchasing the Jungle Awakens or Creeping Winter DLC until this is resolved.
Same issue just happened. Logged in to play with my kids. Leveled up about 5 levels. Logged out to finish quests on my account and when I returned I had dropped to level 20 and had armor and weapons from weeks ago. And it cloned a copy of the old character to my son’s account. Entered a level on my account and it reverted yet again.
this happens to me too
A handful of times now, my armor has been deleted; my bow reset to level one or deleted and various artifacts are deleted as well. I logged out then back in today. My unique Ghost armor that I just won through the Soggy Swamp trial was gone. There's no point in playing this game if our progress is nearly, instantly removed. FWIW, I only play offline.
Hi, the same type of issue just happened on PS4 after the 1.05 update.
Adding details:
So, for some reason the character moved from my wife account (P2) to my account (P1)...
Just loaded the game up on PC and my data is gone, level and power back to 1
Adding comment here to avoid dupes. My progress has been partially lost twice while playing local multiplayer on Xbox One S.
In both cases, I lost map location completion status and experience levels. Current equipment was retained, but old armor from a previous point in time was also re-added to my character, resulting in a negative enchantment point count until I salvaged the old enchanted equipment. Achievements were not lost.
On the first occasion, experience level dropped from 75 to 51, and on the second occasion, experience level dropped from 101 to 71. I didn't note specifics on the lost map locations and redundant loot. Definitely puts a damper on investing more time in the game.
This happened to me twice now. Playing ps4 on couch co-op, 3 players. First time this happened (I’m 3rd player) I got completely deleted and was able to clone 1st player. Now, my player went from 110 to 47! And I can’t clone the other players for some reason. So so so frustrating. Doesn’t even make you want to play the game anymore, please fix this ASAP. Waste of my time and money.
This is kind of ridiculous for a bug this severe to users has gone on since basically launch. It's pretty upsetting to have my daughter lose her character completely (also happened to my wife a month before that). You've been releasing DLC but not fixing this severe bug? How about all of us get a refund and all the DLC as a result of being strung along like this?
I've dropped a couple of screenshots showing the negative enchantment points that occur when this error happens, and how the items worn are sometime duplicated in the inventory.
The issue of duplicating inventory and lost enchantment points is frustrating, but nowhere near as bad as the fact that character progression is rolled back, and items since that rollback level are lost. This is what makes the game unplayable with this bug in play.
Honestly, it's astonishing that this problem still exists, and that nobody at Mojang has been able to provide any kind of update.
FYI - this is during local co-op on Xbox One X
I just started playing yesterday, I've not had it save once and I have retried at least 5 times, the last 3 or so I just did the tutorial really quick or left the tutorial after it started. But theres no save file, I checked the folder while the game was running, it won't save. I have a feeling it's targetting the wrong folder or somthing because I used a custom install location, but I changed to to the standard place and still no success.
Just tested on my Laptop, works fine there, so it's not my account name like it has been suggested. Incredibly frustrating, is this a new bug? I'd rather play on my desktop, but I suppose I at least have somthing good to play on the go.
This has happened to me twice now as well. My computer has no antivirus software and no anti-cheat software. Pretty sad that this still hasn't been fixed. I shouldn't need to back up my data because you can't prevent it from clearing itself.
Update: My game does not save AT ALL! This makes the game unplayable. Want my money back if I can't even play the game correctly.
(PS4) My son and I lost everything we had on MCD, we were level 80 and he is 7 so he was really upset. We had tried to do all dungeons together and he found it really tough. I cannot believe that everything is just lost like that.
Protecting the character data integrity and game progress should be priority number 1 in everything that games do regardless of what happens on the platform be it crashes, anti-ransomware or just strange use cases.
MOJANG: PLEASE implement a feature that backups/archives older character save data on a regular basis and do this ASAP! Once this is done, you’ve got some more room to start solving these issues one by one.
I’ve had this issue already repeat too many times and it’s really hard to get motivated about the game anymore.... 😢
I have had similar experiences with items disappearing. My son and I have been playing minecraft dungeons and 3 times now we have logged in to find items have disappeared. We play on the pc using xbox controllers. The last time it happened I did notice when I exited the game it didn't exit. And then I had to exit again to actually exit. Not sure if it is relevant. It is VERY frustrating for my 6 year old son. There doesn't seem to any pattern to which or how many items disappear. It is very unprofessional.
Update 18/01/21 - this has happened again when our characters have reverted a few levels and lost equipment. He used his pocket money to pay for the game. I have had no updates and it makes the game almost unplayable with my son asking me if the bug will come back.

I would also like an update. It seems that the problem happens if you leave the game on the menu screen and not fully close the game. Although I am not 100%.
I have never known an issue on a game like this and my son takes it in his stride but yesterday lost 10 levels and his new items. It is very upsetting and what's the point of having this tracker is no-one feeds back. How else can we get a reply?
There any hope of compensation, for console players? I have no way of recovering save files, on my xbox one. This loss was extremely demoralizing. It's been weeks, and I haven't been able to reach my old level or find the more rare items, I lost. . .
I would like my money refunded. I haven't really played the game since this happened to two of my family members many months ago. It's amazing that a game studio can have a bug like this with zero response for nine months.
We haven't played since last summer, I lost a couple of characters saves which was annoying, but it was when my son lost his character we decided to stop until this issue had been resolved. While it's been months since any movement on this issue it's clearly still a problem as the affected version keeps being added to and new bugs are still being marked as duplicate (e.g.
MCD-5414,MCD-5412this month).9 months and no acknowledgement, let alone resolution, is really not good enough. This is a game-breaking bug. Please fix it.
We are currently working on implementing cross saves and cloud saves, which should hopefully help in avoiding issues like this in the future. This is described in this article.
With all due respect Bartłomiej cloud save was announced back in November ( https://www.trueachievements.com/n43968/minecraft-dungeon-cross-save ) This particular issue was raised in May of last year and was ignored up until then, and continues to be ignored.
I'll pretend you aren't owned by one of the largest software companies in the world, backed by one of the largest IPs in the world, but it's still unconscionable that any company would release a game with a bug such as this and not fix it immediately.
Your team has had time to release several expansion packs and find ways to monetize a broken game, WHY would I care at this point. My kids experience with your product was ruined and he was upset we he lost work he'd put in and has no interest in coming back. As a parent I have no desire to feed your company any more money.
I know you're the messenger, but feel free to take this feedback to your supervisors. It's embarrassing the way this has been treated.
I must admit I am very surprised that this bug has gotten so little attention. I have never played a game with a bug like this and considering it is the children who are affected, it is disgraceful . Could you please let us know a timescale on the cloud saving being released?
I really do love this game, but due to this bug having lost all my progress, I won't be getting back until they add cloud save. This is really frustrating..
I'm very surprised this bug appears to have been an issue for a year and it hasn't been repaired or mitigated with cloud save. My 10-year-old lost his main character when the game inadvertently shut down. We dug into the folders and the character is there but the DAT file must be corrupted because it won't connect to the game on that PC or on another PC we copied it to. Is there no way for that DAT file to be repaired so it will reconnect to the game?
Same issue here, my girlfriend still has her save files reset to a specific point, at level 3 right after completing the tutorial. It seems like her online progress is cleared whenever she shuts down the game after playing online with me. The game has to be fully closed, as it seems alright as long as the game is left running.

Hello I have the same problem, but with it when I played on when I played a while and clicked on "Return to the main menu" or "left and back to the desktop", I was in the middle of a game world and all the equipment I was found or bought in the playing time was gone.
My enchantment points I have awarded were credited to me, all dealers had a blank slot where I bought the armor and weapons before.
This mistake has occurred 2x after the first time I uninstalled the game and reinstalled, but this did not help.
Furthermore, the game told me when starting, which I do not have the necessary license to play the game and I had to log in completely new.
